Maybe...
I thought that just maybe things would be different on NotRot, that it would at the least return to how things seemed to be about 2 years ago (it was better then)...but as I decided to read through the past posted for that last weeks, etc., I realized that it hasn't. Some individuals are back but still more of the ones who had the "good" insight are not... I didn't have to wonder too long to realize the reasons why. I left for this reason; I did not like the person I was becomming and when I thought about the following quotes I have tried to live by, they showed me it was better that I did not keep posting and giving my time away within this forum.
The qoutes are the following;
"Judge not, that ye be not judged." - Abraham Lincoln
"Don't criticise them; they are just what we would be under simular circumstances." - Abraham Lincoln
A great man shows his greatness, by the way he treats little men." - Carlyle
and last but not least...I only know the quote to be by a Dr. Johnson but it's this;
"God himself, sir, does not purpose to judge man until the end of his days."
So, why should you or I? And I am not judging the posts to myself, but to the quotes of far greater people, and choose not to participate because of that. And I would venture to guess that others have as well for some of those same reasons. For the ones that are still "trying" to make changes...keep this in mind by this quote by Bernard Shaw; "If you teach a man anything, he will never learn." Learning is an active process, we learn by doing. So to master the pricinples you learn you must apply and do them. When you participate in the negativity, you are learning that principle and teaching yourself just that.
just a thought.
But, if you really want an awakening...yes women can feel the words as well, read the following http://www.csua.berkeley.edu/~chrislw/dadforget.html You don't have to be a parent but you might want to look at the others on this forum as your "children" and apply it that way. Only then do I think this forum might evolve where people "say" they want it to be. Actions speak louder...

isn't your post a judgement? A little holier-than-thou, me thinks. Just a thought.

I think you were just waiting for this
The posts and the conversations have been great since the political blabbermouths have gone, the anons are no more, the spreaders of wrong info have been banned, and the thieves have been banished to their own forum. It's been great for two months. But NOW you have something to say, after two dumb posts yesterday and today (one that was probably a set up, and one that's a joke)? Looks like you were just coiled in the grass waiting for a chance to step up on that soapbox. This isn't Shangri-la. It's not going to be perfect. But posts like this just basically insult the people of this forum and don't contribute to any solution. "I'm not judging BUT blah blah blah." Come on. Judging is EXACTLY what you're doing. JMHO.
Sorry you don't like it here. Glad you've found your inner peace without the forum. You can go back to your happy place now.

Re: wow LisaV !!!!!!
Not exactly sure how my id responded to this post???? I am reading it right now, and am dumfounded. Either I have an alter ego that enjoys posting stupid comments like this (if that is the case, I need to be medicated because I am apparently having blackouts!)
I do not post ever, but read the posts every day. I do not provoke others, and will be getting to the bottom of who decided to include me on this.
I am friends with TCMN, but that does not mean I share her opinions. I do not jump on bandwagons. I did not post that ridiculous provoking comment. I have been a member of NotRot for over a year - do I usually post crap like this??
MichiganAl - I did not post, I do not think you are an idiot. I am sorry someone felt they needed to USE me to insult you. I have placed an inquiring call to TCMN....wondering why/how I have been included in this.
Becca - I agree, the use of 'your' was incorrect.
This is not who I am. I am sorry someone wanted to portray me in this fashion.

I have emailed Harry to see if he can tell who used me.
I am a pretty quite one on the forum, but when things like this happen I take offense. It does appear as if someone from MN did this, but it was a logged in user. Funny thing is, not many other notaries know my alias.
I sure hope Harry can find out what happened.

Re: wow
I have been reading this forum for a couple of months now. I am not a newbie, (31/2 yrs), but I definately do not know everything and doubt that I ever will. Those of you who were LO's, in Real Estate, Title or Escrow before you became Notaries of course have a much better understanding of this business. But I am a huge believer that WE all are continually learning in Life, Business & personal growth. And we can learn from the most unusual people. Even Newbies! I would never have entered this business without training, testing and some research because that is who I am & it was available to me in CA. But I still have lots of questions and learn all the time from some of the posts here. There are many who post here that feel they have "arrived" because of there backgrounds, experience & knowledge. And YOU are the voices we need to hear from. But if you feel that you are above answering obvious dumb questions without adding repremands and insults, just do not answer. New people come to this forum in hopes of getting incouragement, help, support and a kind helping hand. Please don't forget where you came from! JMHO

should be
Please, don't forget from where you came.
I'm FAR from perfect and make grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors myself. My point was that here is LauraV calling Al an idiot and she can't even distinguish between your and you're. Now, who is the idiot?
FWIW, I always enjoy reading Al's eloquent posts.

Re: wow - My observation is that
people make posts to start problems on this board when business is slow.
Then, when someone makes this observation they say,
"Oh you judgmental nuts are so hypocritical and so crazy, I am so sane, so well-adjusted, so professional, so experienced and so busy I don't have time to post.
I am so nice, I would never be judgmental or anything but kind and loving. You crazy people who just are mean haters. I hate all the mean haters. I have seventeen signings to do right now...not to mention setting up my new money-making website that I will charge $200 to newbies for so I can email their info to signing services. I love newbies. They should visit my website so I can charge them a lot of money. I am too busy for you people because I am doing signings and NO I am not a signing service. I don't care what contract I wanted Stan to sign. Everyone lies but me. I am benevolent and good. Have a good day."
That's when I lean back in my chair because the contradictory spew is very entertaining to watch.

Re: wow - My observation is that
Yes, everytime we have a slow period, there seems to be too much time for feelings getting hurt. There are many different personalities on this and every forum. Not everyone will agree on the way things are handled, and the way others "speak" to one another. If the search feature and other means of research were utilized before a question or opinion was offered, this may be reduced. I just get tired of listening to the same ole "what about this?" or "can you give me the names of your (well-earned) contacts?" This often pushes me over the edge. Gets my witch on

Misterella -
I agree totally with "If the search feature and other means of research were utilized before a question or opinion was offered this may be reduced". And in a perfect world it should work that way. But, when I first started reading this board I had no idea how to access these great tools except by asking questions or gleaning by reading the posts. I didn't even know these forums existed much less how to utilize them. I feel all the knowledge here is extremely valuable to my business. Getting back to Newbies and their often stupid, naive and researchable questions. I kind of compare it to unwanted phone calls. If you don't want to interact with those calling you - just don't answer! If you don't like the question - just don't respond! Less anxiety for the poster and less anxiety for the responder. Seems logical to me.

"If you don't want to interact with those calling you - just don't answer! If you don't like the question - just don't respond!"
And if you want to abide by that policy while you're on the board, great! But just because you would do something a certain way doesn't mean the rest of us will or should. And it gets really tiresome to hear that repeated over and over again. I don't tell you how you should respond to what you read so don't tell me how I should respond to what I read. Simple as that.

you had been doing this for 3 years, didn't know what was going on about the NNA GLB act etc, as you had been out of the loop awhile, due to things being quiet in your area, had gone off to a cabin somewhere. I filled "you" in about the hoopla, and we agreed. Then "you" wondered if GaryCA liked that &^%$@ MichiganAl, and I LOL and said I like him, what's he said now, "you" told me I should go look. Then, I was disconected from the live feature.

Re: LisaV- "You" said ("you" meaning your imposter)
Wow - that is very interesting!
I have been busy. Things are NOT quiet in my area. I turn down more then I take these days. I work FT and do signings PT (this just changed in the last 6 months; I was full time before going back to work.) I could be FT still, but I choose to take the benies and keep a steady paycheck - and to see my family more.
I've read every GLB post, have been up to speed since the beginning. Hmmmm...
Sure wish I remember the cabin, I could use a vac!! I wonder if I had fun??
Who cares if GaryCA likes MichiganAL - did I miss the last episode of As the World Turns??
No wonder I am so tired, apparently I have been busy doing things I had no idea about. And....don't start calling me Sybil - I have only one personality!! I swear!

A history lesson
Being a very religious man Abe Lincoln may have said "Judge not lest ye be judged" maybe more than once... but the quote was about 1800 years old when he said it, give or take 4 score.
Anyway, I guess I became a newbie while you were gone, love the forum and haven't missed ya.
Take care.
