National Real Estate Information Services and BGC
I contacted NREIS today and mentioned the e-mails from the NNA. I was told "Yes, that is correct and it needs to be done by December 1". I asked why I wasn't notified since we are getting so close to the deadline. She said it is "still in the making".
After explaining my feelings on the matter, I asked why I need to be certified by the NNA after I've completed over 1500 signings and have worked for them for four years. She said hold on. Came back a few minutes later and said that I do need to be currently certified by the NNA to continue working for them. (I chose two years ago not to get re-certified, as I said in an earlier post).
I then asked about the background check and wanted to know if the FBI one will work. She put me on hold again and then told me "no...it has to be the NNA one".
She then went on to tell me that they will ONLY use NNA certified members to do their signings and if I want to work for them I will need to be a certified member and use their background checks and if I don't want to comply that I can be removed from their list. FYI

Good deal. I hope more companies will put this in writing. It's helpful to have it in WRITING.

So Attorneys will need to do this too from what I see in an earlier post. Do you have to be certified if you are just peforming notarial duties in a law firm as I do at my day job? I don't perform the closing, my boss does.

Too bad it wasn't in an e-mail. I'll have to get it in writing.

Re: National Real Estate Info.....I WONDER....
Just what the NNA has promised all of these companies to come on board with them. Sounds fishy to me.
