Nations Direct Can Shove It!

I can't believe the audacity these people have! ND called to ask if I would do an e-mail closing for $75. Just for fun, I told them $80. They told me that they would have to get that approved and would call me back. About an hour later, they did call me back and said that they have a list of notaries who would do it for $75, but that they wondered if I would change my mind and take the $75, since they were giving me the "first shot". I told them that I wouldn't take $75 and to move on. A while later, I get a call back from one of the managers saying that my $80 was approved. After I was finished laughing, I told him fine, it wasn't far from home and I had nothing better to do. What I was wondering was what happened to the "alleged list of notaries"... what happened to them.. To make a long story short.. when I was at the closing and saw the HUD stating that the fees to ND were $228, I was fuming inside! What is wrong with these people? They would have at least offered me half! Needless to say, I refuse to let that company humilate me again! They only offer $45 for a typical closing and I cannot believe there are notaries out there willing to take only $45! Too bad we can't unionize here! Next time they call me and offer me $45, I'll tell them $100. I'm DONE with them! THEY TAKE THEIR ASSIGNMENTS AND SHOVE THEM AND I WANT THE NOTARY WORLD TO KNOW THAT THEY SHOULD STOP WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY UNTIL THEY CAN KEEP UP WITH WHAT OTHER COMPANIES ARE PAYING! Nuff said... have a great weekend all. : )

I tell these people....

E-docs, $125 and they sometimes call me back and agree to the fee. Sometimes not when they can find someone cheaper. They do pay me so i continue to work for them.

Re: I tell these people....

On rare occasions, I'll get a call for a signing of modification docs. It's only 10 pieces of paper and they pay me $45. I don't travel more than 10 miles each way and am in and out in (no lie) 5 minutes. That is fine with me for $45. But for a company to want to pay me only $45 to do a full blown refi set of docs is an insult to me. What did ND do for their $148 profit on the loan I did for them?? THEY MADE A PHONE CALL... whoopee... how hard THAT was????
NO MORE will I let them humiliate me! I don't care if they ever call me again. Don't need the aggravation.
Larry: Your asking price of $125 for e-docs... is this for 1 loan or 2?
Just wonderin. Have a good one!

Re: I tell these people....

Please understand I am not defending Nations Direct. They are a lowball company. Their fees are too low for me too.
However Nations Direct fees to the company do include document preparation - they are more than a signing company, they prepare the docs for the lender.

They shop me everytime. Somewhere around here is a $50.00 edoc type person who will travel any distance and charge $50.00 for everything. So until this person goes belly up, I won't be doing many for them. Oh well.

***Just for fun, I told them $80***

You had nothing to do, signing was not far, they paid an extra $5 so that you can have fun. What the he11 are you complaining about? Would you not be a happy camper had you not saw the $228 on the HUD?

The lamest excuses for humiliation that keep the cheapos banging are:
- B/c I was free and had nothing to do....Easy money.
- It was o/n docs, just drive there and notarize them....Easy money.
- It was only down the street, doesn't take much time....Easy money.

I agree Andy! If you accept the fee quit your complaining.

What did they do wrong? Make to much money? Next time when they call you back go up on your fee, and tell them you will be going up each time that they call.

Better yet don't take the low ball offers. Quit feeding the monster that you are complaining about.

I'm with you Bev

I find it hilarious that anyone would bother to try to negotiate up a whopping $5 from the inital offer. Or that they would go on and on about how horrible it is that the company is only willing to normally pay $45 for a signing, but then they gladly accept $55???

If you're offended by $75 for edocs (which you really should be) then make it worth your while if you're gonna counteroffer. You either value your time or you don't, $5 isn't going to change that.

Re: I'm with you Bev

I talked to a SS that needed to find a NSA to do an edoc job for $80 and no more. I declined the job (do not do edocs for this fee) and in the next hour I had 3 more calls from 3 different people at this SS. So I chit chat with them and find out that they had a notary willing to do the signing for $85 but SS would not pay more than $80. They had 3 people calling notaries for an extra hour or so to save $5 on the fee. NOW that's smart business Frown

I bet if you called SEIU they'd sign you up, who says you

can't unionize.

They called me for a signing late one night--after 9pm. I really didn't want to go out again, so I quoted them $175. The scheduler paused and said she'd have to get it approved. She came back on the line and offered $150, but I stood my ground. They paid $175. When I saw the HUD, their fee was only $175.
