Never Expected to see this!

I keep an eye on the number of SA's in my area. I looked at it tonight (between rings on the doorbell) and the number went ...... DOWN!

I was not expecting that, and to boot it was a 10% reduction.....

I would guess it is SA's that are not renewing their membership.... Hard to pay the bills when you accept $50.00...

I believe that is why Notayr Rotary wanted to get

updates so that they could purge their files. I suspect that the attrition rate for notaries is very high. The unfortunate thing is that NNA keeps grinding out new ones to take the place of those who bite the dust. You can see it on Notary Rotary. It seems that every month or so we get a new crop that expect to have everything handed to them. I believe that if you plotted the flame factor on a calendar that there would be regular peaks and they wold probably coincide with NNA classes.

There are 300 in my area and it say's the first 25 Premier

member's are displayed and the first basic member's are displayed. What if you are the 26th or beyond, is your listing not displayed????

Something is weird. In my area, I clicked on some names and they don't have anything in their profile. One doesn't even have a phone number. Why would anyone do that, I wonder?

My zip code shows about 260 more within 20 miles of me than it did on April 5, which looks like the last time I posted the number on this board. That's over 20% higher. In a 7 month period.

Seems to me that numbers may be growing in urban areas. Looking at Ray's zipcode there are 2 premier members (1 in AZ) and 2 basic members, of course he's married to one so that doesn't really count! Where as in my area I have 303 within 20 miles of me, and then Cali's numbers.
Are people in urban areas more desperate or are they more gullible to NNA's line of b.s.?

No one in my area has been purged!

Did a search within 40 miles of me, one profile dates back to Jan 2006 and another back to 2004 and neither has been purged. I had really hope they would.

Re: No one in my area has been purged!

Harry is probably working on it, I notice in my area there are some listings from 2004, etc. Some of the listings have absolutely no information on them at at. So I guess you could say they aren't in business.

"Are people in urban areas more desperate or are they more gullible to NNA's line of b.s.?"

I'd venture to guess that it's simply that there ARE more people in urban areas - that's what makes them urban! ;>Wink That's probably why the NNA and others concentrate their classes here.

I haven't kept a written record of my competition so I'm not sure what they were last time I checked, but I believe that the numbers within 10 miles of me (307) and within 20 miles (999) have have been reduced slightly. I'm guessing the purging is a work in progress. Thanks, Harry!! I bet that hiring companies will appreciate this almost as much as we do!

I need to clearify something...

We are moving our primary home to Blythe today which was our second home. I changed my profile last night.

When I posted, I was looking at zip code 92284 which had 31 SA's last week and now has 28 in a 20 mile area. Thus, the 10% reduction in SA's.

Sorry for the confusion.

Blythe?

No offense, but I didn't realize there was civilization in Blythe :;

My car broke down there one time - in the middle of nowhere.

Since my partner quit on me earlier this month, I've called a couple of people listed near my area to see if they wanted a closing or two...not a single one of them called me back! I know who the "Dead beats" are. Updated profile or not.

It was my understanding

that the purging would take place around 11/15...I don't recall why that date is in my head, but that is what I remember.
