OT - Freddy Fender Passed
I'm crushed. When I lived in Texas '75-'76 I used to listen to him all the time. He had some great songs (I'm really dating myself). Here is the link to the MSNBC website that has 3 audio clips of his best songs. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15264334/

That is so sad. I enjoyed listening to him.

A true icon in Texas music history. This guy sang the real deal. HIS music was true Texan, or Texican, or whatever you want to call it...but it wasn't the pop music kind of thing...it was true. I am not a pop country music fan--can't stand it... but Texas music...yep...that's good stuff. Makes you want to say, "Two more Pearls, Billy!" even if you don't like beer.

Yes'm I did. I thought I responded but maybe I did not hit SEND before the power outage. We had two days of brown out heaven around here. I lost a computer. Yep, I had a surge protector. Blah. I just don't feel like pulling it out and looking at it. It won't come back on and I really don't care right now. I am decluttering my closet and otherwise in my spare time these days and that's that. Well...I did go to Outback last night and to the movies Thursday night to see "To Kill a Mockingbird" on the big screen at the Geo. H. W. Bush Library...something like that each month as a little fun community thing...Movies like Hud, Giant...the classics. TKAM was soooo good on the big screen...saw things I never caught before in that movie.
Oh Lord, Sylvia...forgive me. I just went on a tangent.
Glad you are back and all is well with the pups!

I remember driving across Texas, New Mexico & Arizona, on our way to CA listening to his music. Now the 1972 Cadillac Eldorado is gone and so is he...what memories.
