OT-TG how is Chachi doing?

OK this is a dog post. I have two chihuahuas, they had a litter. One of the pups went to a 15 yr old gal whom we knew. She lived with her dad, her mom (who was hawaiian) had died when she was 7. Her dad passed away a year later. After living with her dad's family for two years, she decided to take advantage of a friend of her mom's family, to go to school in Hawaii. So away she went. Now Hawaii has a strict law of allowing dogs into the state. Littlle Kia would have to be in quarantine for 4 months. Kia's young owner decided it would be best for me to have Kia for this time.

The four months is up soon. This young dog owner calls weekly to see how her dog is doing, she's the most important thing in her life. God did make dogs for a reason. As much as I don't want to see this little dog go, I know this young gal is going to gain straingth and self confidence by this little 7 lb dog.

My Dear E ,

You already know that this young lady is a true dog lover, be confident in her! She's so excited to have him that (at her young age) she can defer the immediate pleasure of having a Puppy to the betterment of the Pup (staying with you) and the rules of her state. She chose to have you keep the pup, so he would be safe and happy. That is a sign of a mature adult, not a teenager.

She called every week. She's invested in this pup - without ever having seen him! You already know the answer to your question - send that doggie off in a careful crate with explicit instructions to the airline and breathe easy. She'll be a blessing to that little dog, and he (or she) will have a fabulous life. Good for you for caring so much.

My little Chachi is so wonderful. He is a bit 'athletic' looking now that he's a full-grown adult (neck to tail is 14 inches) so by the book he's a 'big' Chi, and all of 9 lbs. I compare him to other Chi's (especially the little ones) and he still is the most handsome, in my humble opinion.

I simply adore him and the best part? He adores me even more.

I still have the pics and the book you sent - and cherish them both. Send your puppy off with confidence!

Thank's Sue. Sometimes it's just hard to say goodbye, this little chi sleeps with us and totally loves it when we come home. I wish I was indepentantly wealthy enough to provide a good home to all animals.

Me too. I'd have a passel of them...but when we can't do it? This little Kia has a Guardian Angel who can't wait to greet him.

Thanks for your post - we Doggie Lovers do have a bond.
