Okay.. Gotta vent

Scheduled a closing for tonight at 5 pm..docs being overnighted to me. Called Mr. bo to confirm appt. He informed me he wasn't going to sign anything without reading it first. (=sigh=). Told him to call me when he got off of work to make sure I have the docs.
He calls about 3 pm and tells me that his wife works weird hours and won't be home at 5pm. Tells me he'll call me at 7 pm to tell me when she'll be there.
SS calls me at 7:30 to tell me they spoke to bo and he doesn't want to sign because the notary DIDN'T SHOW UP!!! HUH??? I told the ss the true story. Bo STILL hasn't called me and it's 8:12 pm.
They want to know if I can close it on Mon. with new docs. Hmm. Wonder what other tall tales he'll think up before Monday!
Geez.

When bo's do that to me I never accept a re-schedule. If they aren't serious then don't waste my time. It's usually because they are fed up with the lender that hasn't kept in touch with them. It's never a clean package.

Mb.. the lo called me on this one too... seems Mr. Bo is a pain in the arse and has changed his mind about 500 times. I'm not gonna take the re-schedule. I don't want to be there for 5 or 6 hrs.

Hey, we have bo's like that here in AZ, too! Maybe the bo's were seeing now are just really piss$$ off that they got themselves in a jam and are trying to cover all bases. Your right for not accepting it but I pitty the next NSA that accepts the job....been there- done that too.

One other option

Is to have LO o/n him his copies of the docs so he can read to his heart's content and call him with his questions long before you show up. If he won't sign after reading them ahead of time, he sure won't sign while you sit there and watch him read.

Tip for future reference. When bwr starts the "I'll have....

to check with spouse and let you know what thime we
will be able to sign" routine, it is a good idea to give the
SS/TC a call/e-mail with a status update.
That way you have CYA if he later reports that appt had
to be re-scheduled because of NSA fault.
I also would have a schedule conflict when they tried to re-sch
me with this clown.

Bob_Chicago....that's good "a reschedule conflict"

I'm not that smooth. My last bo's that balked let their big dog out of the room to visit me while the bo's went into their office for way too long to discuss the loan package. Long story short, they didn't want to sign, I got called by the ss next day to go back and I told them the bo's sicked their dog on me because of the terms of the loan. I told them to find someone else. It was a good SS and I've probably lost their business but I don't like re-signs with that much baggage attached.
