Printers/All in ones Your Opinion Please
I would like to get your opinions on laser printer/fax/scanners all in ones. Yes, I did a search on the subject and get everything but....I'm not sure I want everything in one machine, like the VCR in the TV of old. The VCR died long before the TV! (no I didn't buy one of those either) I'm looking at this Samsung CLP510 Color Laser at Staples, reg. 299.00 on sale for 149.00 after all the rebates. And they have the fax machine I want on sale too. hummmm what do you think?

Faxing/scanning and a backup printer maybe.

The reason I ask is.
I just bought a Brother MFC-3240c at Staples for 26.99 after rebate. The downside is it is inkjet so that wouldn't work for your application. I bought it only for the quick fax, scan and copy features, it's incredible for those things. Good luck on your search.

Brother 7820N
I have had great luck with this all in one printer/fax/scanner/ copier. It is NOT Dual tray and it does not copy LEGAL very well but I have used it to death. In fact I need a higher volume machine since I do so many e-doc signings. I paid about $400 for it. Used about 2 years....do you know what volume use it will be? This one handles the large fax backs when it has to. Hope this helps. I am currently shopping for a dual tray all in one...they are spendy. Any input anyone?

Re: The reason I ask is.
I bought a Brother MFC 7820 and it is my primary printer. I have a small lexmark that scans and prints that I use on the road to get copies of ID if I need to. Had the MFC for over a year now and it is still going strong. Brother has a great customer service base as well and are quick to replace something if it malfunctions.

I have a Brother 8440 which I have had for about 4 years. I also bought a Brother 8870DW this summer which I love. I mainly use the 8440, but if I am really in a rush I send the documents to both and get out of here fast. Both of these are dual trays which I have. Just feel better having a back up for what ever I need.

I only paid $450 thru Costco. They had a rebate offer and no shipping costs.
