Question???

Is it just really out there for we as notaries not to have our name put on the HUD? Is there some rule I am forgetting? I did a signing last week for a ss and they put my name on the HUD...along with theirs and the title company sent me a check the next day after RTC. Boy this would aleviate all the collecting we have to do and may even help to weed out the deab beat signing co's.

That doesn't happen very often. Lucky you! I wish more SS's and TC's did that.

This is just my opinion, but I do not think the SS want the TC to know how much we, the notaries, are getting paid. I had a SS call me to do a closing that was 55 miles (one way) with e-docs, I quoted my fee and they offered me $75.00! Needless to say, I turned them down. The same signing service called the next day with a different closing 12 miles away (one way) with e-docs and was willing to pay me fee. I asked them if they got the other closing from the previous day scheduled and they said "no, we had to give it back to the title company"! It amazes me that they would rather receive NO money at all than to be fair with their fees to the notaries. GO FIGURE!!!

You are right that is very odd. It just seems to me there has GOT to be a better way.....

Good question mtcwgrl.
When a new lender of TC approaches me, I always request to get paid that way, like an appraiser.
Some say OK no problem, some say, we pay this way...
I am following up after six months of error-free WC's with a particular co.
Those companies are starting t say yes, now.
I hope it is a trend for the future....
SS will never do it, for reasons outlined above, and sometimes they just like to use our income to tide them over. We get paid after their car payments are made.

Thanks a bunch...that is what I wanted to know if we can do that. You are right it should start to be a trend...Way To Go!

That has happened to me a few times. Usually when I do the signing for the title or escrow compamy...but never for a SS. I agree though, we are doing the signing so we should be put on the HUD...but it will probably never happen as often as we want. BTW....if I have trouble collecting from a company I will not do business with them again and I started charging late fees....that sure makes them pay a little faster.
