There are MANY notaries who have not been paid!

Took my beef up with the BBB. Resolved fast. Two checks, double quick. Worked for me, and the BBB did NOT let them answer "Invalid claim," and drop it at that. Very easy on-line process. They email you when there has been any action on your claim. Highly recommended for unpaid invoices. I'll let you know if the checks bounce. Best of luck.

Re: SOX Collections

The written responses (on the cyber-forms that I could view online) from SOX were unpunctuated, full of incomplete sentences, and generally pitiful. The gyst of the 'argument' was that they will only pay their invoices, completed by hand and faxed within their time frame - according to their "Contract." They fail to understand that the debt owed is not created by the invoice, but by the confirmation and execution of the assignment.
Originally, I was going to turn SOX over to collections, but decided to give the Better Business Bureau a try. Well worth the minimal effort, and I didn't forfeit a fee for the collection. Now I'm looking into how to impact their credit report...

S O X S U C K S ============ I have done four signings for SOX. I've been paid for three of them, but it took alot of work to get them to cut the check. Had to call, email, threaten, etc. to finally get paid for jobs I did over 60 days back. The last one, I am still having trouble with, as they are now avoiding me and my requests for payment (even ignoring threats at this point). Job was done back in July, and here we are in October.
The last job I did was quoted as a simple single set of docs that the borrower had onhand. I get there, and borrower presents me with two sets of 1st/2nd docs, all total about 20 notarizations. This was not what I agreed/expected to do, but I toughed it out as I didn't want to let client down. Afterwards, I called SOX to negotiate more money after the fact, which they agreed upon, however they have YET to pay me... job was done in July, over 90 days ago.
Sounds like next step is BBB as mentioned in one of the blogs.

Wonder if, when they do their taxes, they show what we know are unpaid vendors, as paid? I am no tax expert but I would think that showing paid vendors is an expense of doing business ( decreasing tax liability). Unpaid is not yet an expense and should show as money in their acct. ....taxable.

SOX stiff me about two years of $500! Nobody should work for this company even if your just getting started. They are crooks!

I wonder why Title companies and lenders keep hiring them.

Re: SOX-Sandi42
Could it be that Title, lenders, & SOX are one and the same? I thought you'd be smart enough to figure why no company (SOX client) ever did anything from the complaints logged.
