Signing Service
I just lost it. My cool, that is. I accepted an E-doc signing appointment. I told her to send me the confirmation. She said she would. I never received it. Title started sending me the docs. I called SS back and told her I didn't receive the confirmation and I can't call the borrowers until I have it. She said to go ahead and call them & when she gets back to her office, she will send me the confirmation. HUH! I said, "how can I call them when I don't know their name, address or phone #. That information is on the confirmation. Obviously, you don't know what you're doing, so I'm declining this signing. Call someone else." I probably wouldn't get paid for it anyway. I don't have much patience with signing services anymore. Where are these signing services coming from anyway? From the gutter? They don't even have a clue. It's scarey. They probably think of notaries as fair game to take advantage of and not pay us. That's the impression I've gotten of them.

If you have the package, look on the application. Their name and phone number would be listed half way down on page 1. Good luck. I've had that happen quite a few times.

I had 3 last week where the borrowers phone number was wrong on the confirmation. Called the tc's and they gave me the WRONG work phone #'s too. By the time I got docs printed (they were late, too), 2 of the lo's had called me...THEY had the correct phone #'s. It was a pretty hectic week, but all got signed. =phew=.

I had one last week with a BIG problem w/ the ph #'s.
I was given three phone numbers for the borrower:
Home phone - Disconnected Work phone - no longer employeed there Cell phone - Not accepting incoming calls.
Called and warned SS that if I drive out there, they are paying full-fee no matter what. Agreed. Borrower's were home and expecting me. PS-- They had no electricity either. lol.

I have had wrong phone numbers for borrowers and only found out by using an online phone book. In addition to it being wrong on confirmation, it was wrong on application. Using the online phone book, IMO takes less time than waiting for someone to get back ahold of me with the right number. And if its in your city, dont forget the old fashioned phone book. I also have gotten confirmations without the phone numbers entirely. Again the online phone book to the rescue.
