Someone Please Help Me
If there is anyone that can answer some questions about refinancing documents that would be really appreciated. I have all the free long distance anyone could ever ask for and am looking for someone to really take me under their wing a bit... I am new to this, and not yet certified. I'll ask a couple of questions here, and if there is anyone that would be willing to help, it would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
On the documents I have to sign, am I the closing agent? or Settlement agent at all? Also, on the documents, where it says the county of __________in california, am I supposed to change that to the state and county that I am in???
If anyone can call me that would be great. I am up all night, and need to know this all before 10am. Here is the phone number. 720-364-2246. Thank you.

I'll let the closing/settlement agent thing slide (you're neither), but why don't you already know the answer to the county/state on an acknowledgement or jurat? And you need to know this before 10 am why? Because you have a signing lined up, even though you don't even know BASIC notary procedures?
You're obviously not ready to be out there signing loan documents. Learn how to be a proper notary first.

And it never occurred to you that perhaps you shouldn't be doing signings until you actually knew what you were doing?
Whether your friend flaked on you or not, that's no excuse for not knowing basic notary law. YOU are responsible to know that, others aren't responsible to teach it to you.
I just hope you don't screw up the borrowers docs too badly. I'm sure they'd be thrilled to know that they're acting as your guinea pigs.

Actually, They know how many signings I have done, they are fully aware of that. They told me I didnt have enough experience. But, they said, they would look into it, and they decided to call me back. I was ok, with it either way. Thanks though for all of your loving concern. God bless! Jacqueline

While you do deserve all the bashing from Cali, but I'll be a good sam for the sake of the borrowers.
Any doc with a title, settlement, or closing agent print on it should be left alone, period. The venue (county/state) on any notarial certificate should be filled with the exact county/state the signing take place. If it says California, then line through, initial it, and put your state in there.

I am trying to get all of this corrected by taking the steps to get informed, and study. I can only do so much with my hectic schedule. Unfortunately, I got signed on long before I knew exactly what this was. I was told to sign up on this site, thinking it was something different. But, now, just because I am not informed, doesn't mean that I am not going to resolve all of this. I am looking into courses and so forth. I believe over time, I am not going to bash people, I am going to teach them. Its what I do with my other business. Thank you for your help though, it is always appreciated. Even though, I am new to this, and probably do not deserve a lick of it, there are still some decent people out there. Thank you again. Take care. Jax

Jax, look at the big picture. Of course, you'll be more informed and experience over time. But, the problem here is many SS prey on ill-informed agents like yourself with low fee to line their pocket, and be a dis-service to their clients/borrowers. If you will stay in this business long enough, you'll know how it feel to be lowballed.

Hello, JaxCo! Be thickskinned and you will survive in this business. Learn from the bashing because, believe it or not, although it hurts, it, also, helps. Good luck to you!

Actually CaliNotary was a lot nicer to you than you deserve
Think, how would you like a surgical procedure from someone who thought it wold be cool to be a surgeon but hadn't found a medical school yet? You are possibly playing with the most money someone might have and you haven't the foggiest notion of how much damage you can do. Your actions are irresponsible, unconscienceable and reprehensible, get the education and then go out and do the job. I won't even ask if you have E&O or any assets becasue you probably don't or you would act more responsibly!
