Something to Make you Laugh
Good morning all. I finally had time this morning to log onto the forum no signings till this afternoon. Last night I received a call from a signing company for a signing today, I quoted my price and the guy said I will have to get this amount approved we normally dont pay over 100.00 dollars and there are Notaries in my area who do it for less(WHO I WONDERED), I nicely told him ok that is fine. This guy calld back in less than 5 minutes and said my price was approved and he would email the confirmation etc. I want to know how many of you out there experience this a lot? Oh and by the way it was an edoc.

You hear it all the time.
It's standard fair now and I think everyone gets it everyday. My responce is NO to low fees I'm running a business , not playing at this profession. When you have been doing this for quite a while you hear it all. lol The Notary Auction is my personal favorite, what's next trading beads and trinkets ? lol Phill Good for you ! If you keep this up (getting your fee) you'll be in business next year The lowballers Bye Bye.

Yup! Lowball companies busy playing The Notary Auction making phone calls all day. Good companies are making one call and getting the appointment times they need with reliable, experienced notaries. I'm just sitting here scratching my head trying to find the logic in their thinking??? One call or 50 thousand calls Hummmmmm Sounds like bad business to me.

Ted is right, intimidation is the game for those people. Shaming, sugar-coating, nastiness, etc. - we're talking about full range of tactics, lol They know it works on lowball signing agents - but hey, most of the time it translates into top dollar clean up job for us who actually know what they're doing(once, I did a re-sign after somebody who thought stamping EVERY PAGE of the loan package is what signing agents do) If you're in business long enough, you'll hear it all and wouldn't give it a second thought. Stick to your fees!

Re: You hear it all the time.
I too turned one down a few days ago because the offer was too low. I quoted my fee and they said "thanks anyway" and we both hung up. I didn't give it another thought, nor did I try to hold the time open. I was surprised when they called back a few hours later saying they got the fee approved, and was I still available. I was, so I took the job.
