Stewart Mortgage

Anyone else having problems collecting fees from Stewart Mortgage - Pa.? They owe me for two signings from July - when I have called (3times) I'm told the loans have funded but they haven't been paid - both were Countrywide Loans........any thoughts on this?

I'm having the same problem, Sandra. I have called and emailed several times and I'm always told they'll look into it and then I never hear back from them. In fact, what I was told was that it had been paid. I've never received a check. I've asked them who the check was sent to and I'm not getting any response. I'll be sending a demand letter by the end of this week and reporting them to the BBB. My signing was done in May.

Glad to know it's not just me. Perhaps this should be warning for others on this site to beware - I too am sending a demand letter.

FWIW, Stewart Mortage's checks are cut the 10th and the 20th AFTER escrow closes. This is what I have been told when I've inquired about payment. I've always gotten paid however I have no idea what happens if there's a fall-out of escrow.

Re: Stewart Mortgage - here's resolution

Next pkg you send back, include a collection of all unpaid CONFIRMATIONS, along with a nice little note for those to be forwarded to accounting. They need the confirmations to track the jobs - these have their own job numbers on them, plus all the other info they need. None of the schedulers can help with these issues - totally separate depts.

I didn't have any trouble reaching the right person, finding out what happened, and finding out how to resolve it. The difference might be (NOT to offend anyone, I said "MIGHT"Wink that I went about this with the perspective that something must've happened, Stewart is HUGE and if they were short on money it would make the 6 o'clock news, if something DID happen then the person solving the problems MUST have a headache already, and I LIKE their business and sure don't want to add any more bullet holes to my toes than I've already collected over my lifetime.

The very few times I've had to deal with payment issues from anyone, I've always first approached it with these perspectives - giving THEM every benefit of doubt, and being nice about it. I know I'm not perfect, so the only time I demand error-free perfection from anyone is if they're prepping me for surgery! Twice, thus far, I have been 'stiffed' (and I'm not finished with those - I do know how to work my way from 'nice' to 'Staffordshire Terrier"Wink. Plenty more times, it was something that just ... happened, and the person was SO happy that I didn't bite their head off, they were added to my 'buddy' list, and business continues.

Good advice, Renee.

That is the profesional way to deal with the issue IMO.
You'll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, as my grandma used to say.
