Superior Notary Services
We received several emails and phone calls today, regarding a company out of Florida using our name. I just want to make it clear that Superior Notary Services in Dallas, TX. is in no way affiliated or associated with this company in Florida. Nor do we employ anyone by the name of Nicole Fisher.

Thank you Clay for posting this information. I have been trying to sign up with what I thought was your company today and had fax problems. I have requested more information from Nicole Fisher. Thanks again, Beverly Nichols

Dear Nicole,
I might be interested in working with your company; however I would require a bit more information about your company. Such as, who are you, where are you located, are you a statewide, regional or national signing company, do you have a website, how long have you been in business, what is your payment policy, etc.
I don't see how you can expect NSAs to send you their personal and confidential information, such as SS# and copy of DL without formally introducing yourself and your company. For all I know, from your email, you could be just another scam artist looking to steal identities. I'm not saying you are, but a professional introduction letter may get you better results and increase your credibility.
Sincerely, Rebecca Fair

Re: Superior Notary Services..got the same e-mail
And responded - she told me she filed with the state a couple weeks ago (Fisher and Fisher Financial) and just that day filed her dba..
I told her I might be interested, however I wasn't sending her my automobile insurance information or a copy of my stamp. I haven't heard back from her yet.

I thought she was asking for too much personal info. from me and was not willing to give the most basic info. about her business. I found it very strange.

Becca
The address lsited is only about 2 miles from my office, and it is in a residential neighborhood. I absolutely understand NSA's working from home, but I think SS have a more professional image working from an office location. It's proably a husband and wife team, undercutting me. I give a good price, but just like today, for a piggy-back, someone local here underbid me.

Heck, I'll bet they got the MD memo on how much money they were actually making; and then, they cut their price to "no profit" so they would not have to pay so much income tax at EOY/tax time.

Re: Becca - Mistarella...Brenda....UPDATE
The underbidder just backed out of the 6 pm piggyback. Good Lord! The TC just called me back asking me if I was still available, and they would be using me exclusively for witness closings in this area. Cha-ching! Good for the FL NSA Network, too. You know I'll be forwarding them "The List"

Re: Becca - Mistarella...Brenda....UPDATE
Sooner or later...they'll all come around. You know the tide is turning when "new to you" companies call and ask questions like, "do you know what a 1003 is? Why are the APR and interest rate different? How long have you been an NSA? And my personal favorite, "It definitely sounds like you know what you are doing, but I'm not sure I can afford you. Would you be willing to come down on your rates for me?" Hmmm let's see...do I use a Notary that knows what s/he's doing and pay a premium or do I take my chances on some newbie that just points and says "sign here?"

One SS agreed to my fee for a signing tonight. It made me laugh when in the 3 pages instruction read, "...we lost 3 clients due to common errors listed above..."

Re: Becca - Mistarella...
Too funny Brenda! What is WITH these people? They'll never last at the fees they quote: how can they? I barely made it financially during my "On The Job Training" phase....(year 1) When I couldn't get fees ABOVE $100/closing.

Good for you! I am just getting out of phase 1 myself. It felt so good to tell the low payers "sorry, but this is my fee" last month.

Cassie
It gets better after year one: I am working toward #4 and fees got better around year 2 +. Keep holding on, if you like the field. No matter what the NNA says, your first few years are kind of lean. Now, I can actually picture $100K/year-maybe next year....but not this year.

Re: Cassie
I do like it. Thankfully my husband has a decent job, LOL. I hope you reach that goal, I'm still mostly part time, I also stay at home. This has afforded me the schedule to be able to earn money while being able to "control" my schedule, so to speak. Also, I get to get out of the house and talk to other adults, sometimes. I hope to make it full time later, but it's working for us right now.
What's ironic about the NNA is that I'd never even heard of them until after I thought about doing this. I wasn't one of their get rich quick victims, we were refinancing and the thought occurred to me, hey, this would be a good business to get into. If I had only known, Just joshing. It is completely different than I thought it would be, but I do like it and it's starting to pay off, hopefully it will continue to do so. Thanks for the encouragement!
