I'll call the Signing Co or loan officer. I'll tell them it's outside the scope of my position to advise people on how to fill out tax forms. They will usually instruct me what goes where. In the absence of that, they will only get the basics. I don't have that info, I am NOT an attorney and I will NOT be put in the UPL situation by someone who doesn't care to do their job. CYA and CALL.

No ... maybe you can't tell them that , but you could tell them to call their loan officer on the matter. Who should be able to tell them something . Personally, I don't like being in that grey area of " I'd like to tell you something but legal restraints prevent me from it " However , it really IS IMO, for the best because it takes us off the hook in the event of any kind of finacial penalty. If you don't mind my asking , Where in NY are you?
