Telling stories

about your borrower(s) to other notaries and friends are always a great way to laugh/scream/giggle and sometimes release stress. I have been reading posts on other sites (NotRot is my fav) and have a few things to say. Please, please when telling stories be sure not to name names of the borrower(s) even when you are friends with them. IMO this is a privacy issue. Not sure if anyone else feels this way but I sure do. I like stories as much as the next guy/gal but always refer to borrower(s) AS the borrower(s). My .02 cents.

When telling stories Please use AKA's like Mr. & Mrs. Devil Dogs. Lenders- Dominion Hades for all your lending needs. Schedulers - Satan's little helpers. So forth and so on. Disclaimer this is a joke. lol

I think we all do, I've never seen a name mentioned here. It's taboo.

I once had a good story to tell (not a loan signing) but I live in a town with a population of about 5000, so I decided I would keep it to myself. With a small town, people might be identified by the circumstances, even though pseudonyms are used.

Re: Telling stories- Uh, you're preaching to the Choir

The professional notaries here already know that and it isn't something that is a problem. Perhaps you are new and dont' know that yet.

"Stories" are always modified here (in 100% of my experience) to protect identity. It's part of knowing your job, and the legal ramifications. Why are you posting about this? Did you see someone that actually posted someone's name here?

No one here posted any names. But I have seen this notary post here and maybe he/she is new and did not know that you need to protect the borrower(s) identity at all times. You are right TitlegalCA the professional notaries here already know that! Thanks for your reply.
