The closing I didn't do today .... long

I felt rather bad about this at first, but by the 5th call, I no longer felt bad. I agreed to do a closing in a town about 45 minutes away tonight. I then got requests to do 2 more closings in that same area, all about 5 miles apart, and plenty of time to get from one to the other. The first closing was scheduled at 4, 6 and 7:30. I emailed everyone involved at 6:00 am this morning and let them know I needed the docs by 1pm so I could leave by 2pm. I also called, and either spoke to someone or left messages on voicemail a little later in the morning. I had 2 of the 3 packages by 12:30. So at 1pm I called the TC that was missing and was put to VM, so I left a message saying that I needed docs. Called back and asked for a real person, got VM again. This happened 3 times. I stated very clearly in the messages that I needed docs in 5 minutes or I couldn't do the closing. NO DOCS so I go on my way. And no, this area does not have Fed Ex Kinkos or places like that to print docs. So I am done with my first closing, and it's 5:30, get a call from the TC that they just sent me docs. I explained to the to the guy on the phone that I'd emailed, and left several messages. He said that I didn't do anything wrong, but that no one passed the info along. I said that so&so and so&so were left messages when I asked to speak to real people. I'm told that they had left early. I apologized over and over again, and said I was sorry, but it would take me 3 hours to go home, print docs and get back to that area, and I couldn't do that. I get to my next closing very early, at 6:20 (the 6pm closing is the one I didn't get docs for) and am there 10 minutes and get another call from that TC telling me that they just emailed me a revised HUD, and they were sorry and knew that I must be in the closing as we speak. I told her the situation, and she said that she had no idea that I wasn't doing that closing.

Talk about a TC that doesn't have its act together. I've only done 2 other closings for this company, and they've all been weird.

Don't feel bad...Kick your shoes off and forget about it...

You did your due diligence and beyond that you're off the hook...

I've been waiting all day for a confirmation of a singing tomorrow. I was assured the docs would be ready today and I still don't even have a confirmation.

Turned down one already for the same time slot tomorrow... If I get another call I'm going to take it and tell the first SS that I can't due it since I have no confirmation or docs...
Tired of turning down assignments for questionable signings.

The closing I did day before yesterday....longer

I honestly don't know what to feel about this one. I received a phone call - big lender, and it was a referral from a member of a network we're trying to get going, so I was very excited. They told me what they want, I quoted my fee, they said no problem, sending you docs by email and fax right now, and off I go. I didn't have anything else going that particular day, so when 'right now' turned into hours of waiting, I could afford to be flexible. I get the docs, and I call borrower as it prints. Lady says she has to leave to get her daughter out of day care in ah hour and a change, and since it was close to me, I said ok, I'll be right over. So I grab the docs and arrive at borrower's.
As we go through the 2nd package(it was a 1st and 2nd signing, Countrywide, Dynamic Dox), I notice that about 5 or so pages have their tops 'cut off' just a tad, but the rest of that package and 1st one look ok. Since there was nothing I could do, we went ahead and finished signing, and when i was shipping everything back, I've attached a note explaining the situation(all the time thinking to myself that it's just weird that everything but those random pages would print like that), and for them to call me and if I need to go back and resign those pages, it wouldn't be a problem.
Yesterday my network buddy IMs me that head processor called HER and said that those pages need to be resigned and if I could call her. I thought that it was a little strange that they called her when I did the signing, but ok, I call the head processor. She tell me that she's on conference call and she'll call me back. When I haven't heard anything in about 1.5hrs, I called again and left message, saying that I've heard that there seem to be issues with some of the papers and let's 'make it right'. When I haven't heard anything at the end of the day, I shot a quick email to both of those processors (and CCd my network buddy) that I've tried to reach them and if they have any questions or concerns, here's my phone number. I don't think I sounded desperate or anything like that, but since I guarantee my work always, I wanted to make sure they're happy with me and there's possibility for more work in the future.
Today my buddy IMs me again and says that they called HER again and said that they decided to send it to Countrywide anyway and see what happens. I simply don't get it - if there's an issue, tell ME, I was the one who did the work!
All I am going to say that that power trips like that belong to high school cliques and not in professional world. Sorry for the long story..

You're absolutely sure this is a 'network' you are trying to get going with 'someone' or is it someone trying to be a 'stealth SS'. I agree with you that contacting 'your network' is pretty strange (but they are easily confused). However, my concern would be that it's more strange that the network contact that IM'd you didn't set them straight immediately.

Yes, this is a network we're creating, we've had our first meeting and we're working on broshure, website, and other stuff. My 'contact' is a great lady, I like her, but yes, this whole situation is pretty strange - and I thought that after years in this business nothing will bother me anymoreSmile

This is a rebuttal to msg. # 153790 posted on 10/19/06 By SvetSFBay (Lana). I do not believe that this forum is the proper place for a network to resolve an issue such as this, however, I just want to clarify this issue so that everything is stated honestly and correctly, since another member felt it was better to bring it to the board. While I am not the contact person in this situation Lana described, I am working with that person which is Della/CA to resolve what transpired. This was a contact given to Lana from Della and there were some very unprofessional things done with that contact that has caused this company to not want to do business with the network. Della contacted me immediately after the company informed her of the problems they had encountered with Lana. I have read some of the e-mails Della received from Lana, and the story has changed several times. Della is a very professional person and very credible, I believe what Della has to say is accurate. I heard Lana's side of the story from the message she posted on Notary Rotary rather then receiving a phone call or email from her. We are not a"stealth ss", and do not want to be perceived in that manner. We are the California NSA Notary Network.

Sincerely,
Brenda Miranda (Brenda/CA)

Re: reply to message #154085

In my opionon this should have never been posted in an open forum. For better words I am embarrassed to have read it here.
As far as the processor calling me the second time she did not I called her to check to see if things were worked out.
This is a company I have worked with almost 2 years. So yes I was concerned as to my standing with them after what happened.
As far as the printing I wanted to give you the benifit so I printed the docs myself so I could back you up, but they printed great
as usual,nothing cut off.

They were so upset about sending in docs that way also that you charged them more on the invoice that you had agreed on.
You wondered why they called me instead of you.Again I refered you, title ,escrow and lo if worked for directly are very unforgiving of mistakes.

Another point the head processor said they did not want to talk to you again because you were rude to her assistant,The borrower was
on title as sole and seprate but you argued with her wanting the NBS to sign. Their was not a NBS it was sole and seprate.
