Thisclose to a very cool Hollywood notary moment

Got a call today to do a signing tomorrow. Get the confirmation and I recognize the borrowers names immedately - longtime married couple, both actors, husband is considerably more famous and has been Oscar nominated several times. I recognize the wife by name but honestly wouldn't know her face if she came up and spit in my face.

Confirmation has number of third party to contact to set up appointment. Call, find out that I'll only be signing the wife, the husband is on the other side of the country. But signing won't be at the office address that I was given, will take place in Malibu. In their home? I don't know yet, I'll find out tomorrow.

Either way, should be pretty groovy. But it would have been way more fun if the one I actually recognized was gonna be around.

do you ask for autographs at these particular signings?

Autograph in his journal...and

one could slip an extra document in there for signing as a keepsake, but Cali won't...it just wouldn't be the "right" thing to do. He's the poster who reminds us that integrity is what you have when no one else is looking. LOL...boy, that's a tough one.

I think that we should all beat up on Cali for this .......

serious breech of notary ethics.
Because I avidly follow the celeb mags, I knew
immediately which celebrity that he was talking about
I can't believe that everyone did not figure it out
This person's name has been in the paper for doing and/
or saying something really stupid.
They just came out of , or are just going into drug, alcohol,
child or political abuse re-hab
They are self-absorbed and just received or are about to
have plastic surgury.
They love to broadcast their political opionions, and believe
that people actually care what they think about anything.
Have you guys figured out who it is yet?

Come on Cali, just give us initials! What part of CA are you

in? I thought you were in San Diego area, am I wrong about that?

Re: Come on Cali, just give us initials! What part of CA are

No, I'm in Los Angeles, near Pasadena.

And I can't give initials, would make it pretty easy. I"ll just say he's never been a traditional pretty boy, but a heck of a lot of women and gay men find him to be sexy as hell.

And it did turn out to be their house that I went to. She was quite nice and the house was a very unassuming and homey ranch style home, a couple of beat up pickups in the driveway (as well as a high end car), a big goofy dog, Halloween decorations all around. Never in a million years would you guess it was the home of a celeb couple.

Last year I did one for a prominent businessman in Newport

Beach. He is someone you have all heard of and somewhat of a celeb I would say. He was just an ordinary WEALTHY guy! Thats the closest I have come to a true celebrity in this business. BUT, I have seen several celebrities at a major hotel we frequent in Palm Desert, Ca and hubby has golfed with some also. No different from any of US, just wealthier!~

Cali

You remind me of my Uncle who was the spiritual advisor in a well known mid west drug and alcohol center (inpatient) When his mom died (my grandmother) he showed me a sympathy card that all the current patients signed using the psuedo names they use while in treatment. All he could say was "You wouldn't believe who this one is' and "Who that one is".
Many years later while visiting my aunt in the intensive care unit at the University of MN med center (transplants) I was strolling around the unit with my uncle when a very famous rock star passed us and greeted my uncle by name. Confidentiality is hard isn't it?

But, does Christina Aquilerra count come close? Wow, stupid notary didn't even know who she was as she was called by her business manager. Security was everywhere around Auberge. Her driver kept the Rolls running so her puppy could go for a drive every hour. Oh well, you have to guess what the 16 signings were for but it was the day of her wedding. A real experience for sure. Hated to retire that journal.

I had the Hollywood Moment before you/

See my earlier posting. I guess it was my Hollywood posting, 18 notarized sigs for her and then 18 more for her prospective to be. A notarization to remember. I tell all that they know of her, I have her signature and address. Big Deal, Huh?

Re: I had the Hollywood Moment before you/

I think is fun sharing the experiences. We ( husband and I ) have photos with celebs but it's not the same as notarizing docs for them.

I am telling you Cali, you can create your niche: "Notary to the stars"

"I am telling you Cali, you can create your niche: "Notary to the stars"

I wish. So far my star count has been limited to the one today, the producer of one of the Best Picture Oscar winners (1990's), one of the voices in "The Incredibles", one of the supporting roles in "Barbershop", a woman who did a few "Flower Drum Song" type movies back in the 60's (although I don't think she was in that particular one), and seeing Tom Hanks at Panda Express after doing a signing in Pacific Palisades.

I guess if you use the "Dancing With the Stars" and "Surreal Life" definition of celebrity then yeah, I am the notary to the stars.
