Time to Say Hello
Hello to Everyone!!!! I have been a Signing Agent for several years (part time) in the southwest region of Virginia. I own and operate a printing distributorship as my primary business income and don’t have the on going pressures of most who post here. Mainly due to the fact that I provide signing services for additional funds for travel purposes. However, I have experienced a steady increase in signing requests in the last couple of years. I am doing several a week at this time and do enjoy meeting the borrowers and working with most of the SS/Title/Lending companies. I just completed my first reverse this last week. The Reverse Mortgage is not very popular in my areas right now, but I do expect a steady increase to follow. I am certified through the NNA but the information on the reverse is very limited. Does anyone know of a complete certification course which does instruct in detail the Reverse? Also, is there a certification course available that is actually accepted and acknowledged throughout the nation as top notch in the industry?
I have read the posts about the back ground checks and I can understand the debate from both sides. I have completed my back ground check through the NNA only to get it out of the way and move forward. The law being passed years ago and only now the pressure is on to insure the completion. I feel as if this is part of the industry evolving and I do hold a responsibility in confirming that I abide by all laws which govern anything that I do in any industry.
With the ongoing debate about the acceptance of one back ground check to another and what is accepted nation wide in the industry, is there a web site where signing agents and SS/Lenders/Mortgage, etc., companies come together in open forum to discuss these issues? Thank You, Everyone!!! For your posts in this forum, I have learned a great deal here through your sharing of your experiences.
