Update on Email being hacked
Well, as I suspected. After finding out my email had been hijacked and all my email was being forwarded. I went and changed all my passwords, but not soon enough. They someone got a hold of my Paypal account and tried to make a purchase of a Sony Laptop for $1892.22. Of course, my bank account returned for NSF. I cancelled my backup credit card account I had on Paypal. Then they tried to run the charge again as an ACH, I had to put a stop payment on the ACH which is only good for 30 days and I can not do another stop payment for the same item. So I had to close my bank account and open a new account.
Also found out that I had a key logger program on my computer that had captured all my key strokes for someone to get all my user names and passwords. I have updated my IE to IE7 which as some built in defense. I purchased a spyware program called Spy Sweeper and also downloaded Windows Defender. The Spy Sweeper program found like 82 spy cookies which it deletes.
This has been the worst couple of weeks I have had in a long time

I had $2000 cleaned out of my bank account with a fake debit card. Several in my area did. Someone was sitting around collecting codes with a gizmo out in the parking lot or something. I got it back immediately, but it is VERY unnerving.

I just did a fraud alert to the 3 credit bureau agencies and got a free credit report. My report looks fine. It is very unnerving. I think if you have an unsecure wireless network, people can hack you. Mine is secured and no one driving by can get access, I hope.

Information
Margaret, you obviously have done alot to begin the recovery process on this devastating event. I feel for you and pray that you will get it all cleaned up.
Meanwhile, for you and anybody else who is interested, I give seminars on identity theft. I wrote an article titled "Identity Theft - It Can Happen to You!". It tells you about the different types of identity theft, how to recover from it if you are a victim, and how to protect yourself. I have a webpage that has the article on it along with downloadable, printable articles, forms. The Identity Theft Resource page can not be reached via my website, but you can access it at: http://www.linker-mobile-notary.com/ID-Theft.htm

Again, I'm so sorry that you had to deal with this. Should I be concerned with my Verizon wireless card?

If you are referring to anything I said, my difficulty was from going into a local store. Just did not want to be misunderstood.
Now...back to Margaret ---->

Re: Update on Email being hacked...Brenda
The wireless connection I am talking about is the one you have in your home. Anyone driving past your home can get access to the internet using your network. I have a pass key code on mine. I am not sure about my T-mobile or your Verizon. The good thing is I do not access sensitive information. I am only entering inspection data, map programs, etc.
Thanks to everyone, it has been very stressful.
