VENTING - Signing Service just called and very rude

because I wouldn't except their LOW fee for a signing. I suggested he call someone else and he started telling me he's only making $125 off the deal since he's a ss. Oh well. My fees are fair but I'm sure another local notary will take it...they ususally do. I did a reverse phone lookup and it shows the number was out of Williamsburg, VA. I only caught part of the name--National ????? The guy was not professional and probably wouldn't have paid me anyway.

MB_AZ,

It pays to have a good sense of humor in this business. Low Ballers really crack me up. Sadly for them we know what we should charging - so stick to your fees. The outcome for lowball notaries they run themselves to death for nada, zip or zero! Then that's the end of them. SS will just try to bully you thinking that you will yield. Don't ever do it. I will not change my fees and I am working every day. This is a profession not an auction. Just wait for your next call, and your fee. Big Smile

you know what teddog how much do you want? You might be out of a job for your high fees. We all compromise and you can't. I'm glad.

No need to get snippy. You've been here saying everyone needs to compromise on their fees, but really why do you care? It's not hurting you, it's their business and they can run it how they see fit. Good for you Ted!

Ha! That's the funniest thing I've read today.

No WHERE have I acted as if I knew everything, I don't, not by a long shot. I'm just tired of seeing you blast everyone about their fees and how we should compromise, Ted in particular. But you're right, whatever.

Cassie, you obviously know a lot more than this dumb b*tch.

Maybe we should give her the benefit of the doubt and assume that she's menopausal and her dress shields are dripping with sweat as she posts? I suppose that's enough to make anyone crabby.

Quite a compliment coming from you, thanks! Too funny, you remind me of my best friend who has no problem telling like it is, and if you're offended that's just too d*** bad, no sugar coating there. I'll go with that theory though, sounds good to me. Smile

Cassie - our CaliNotary makes a good friend. He'll tell it like it is and he'll also tell it like it is.

You won't get any double talk out of him. Some people don't really want friends like that. I do. I ask him to read some of my stuff on occasion. He's an excellent writer, critic, and editor of the written word.

I agree. I know some get offended, but I don't. Being blunt and honest is something I can appreciate. As I said, I have a friend like that. We worked together before I moved here and she's like that all the time, didn't matter who it was either. I can't tell you how many times she got wrote up, but they never got rid of her. When I was being an idiot, she told me so. She told the truth, even if it hurt. Cali reminds me of that.

Do you run a SS sandi42?

I'm starting to think you own/operate and SS because you spend so much time trying to get us to drop our fees. We know what we need to charge to make our business work, to pay for our supplies, gas, auto expenses, health insurance, memberships and marketing, and then have money left over to pay for our lives.

I agree with you Teddog....to a point. There is such a thing as negotiating and then there are those SS that think they can get something for almost nothing. If they don't want to pay my fees I may negotiate a VERY LITTLE but I will not do it for pennies thats for sure so you are right....hopefully there will come a day when SS will no longer be around.

Sandi42...

Just yesterday I was telling friends that I seemed to really have my b*tch on. You know...feeling a little bit negative and gripey?

I am glad to run across you because now I feel as delightful as Tinkerbell in comparison.

But, back to you...you have got your b*tch switch amping on high...that's not Ted's fault. But rave on. Teddog will manage your rudeness.

And, again, back to you...are you really a *closing agent?* Not questioning you, just interested.

Re: Hey sandi42

Jealousy rears her ugly head....You know, Dandi42, are you getting paid what you are worth, or just wish you were getting paid what Teddog is worth?
If you (shhhhhhh) keep your mouth (fingers) silent, and your ears (eyes) open, you may learn something from the know-it-alls (more experienced).
I learned much from my peers on this board, and my bank account is now reflecting it.
THANK YOU NR AND COMPANY!
You may want to change your handle, and come back with a quieter, gentler attitude.
Unless you are a signing service, because that is who it seems you are supporting here, not your colleagues.
Even when I don't agree with the poster, I try to learn from other's experiences.
Unfortunately, you seem to have baaaad experiences.
Sorry 'bout your luck.
Now do what Cali says.
