got a call..........
at noon to do a 3pm signing, w/edocs.......told them ok and my fee would be $175 this time only in order to get more business from them......asked if i would consider $150 to help them out....said ok this once only.....they said they would call me back if he could get them to ok that fee....they called back in about 10 minutes and said the best they could do was $115.....i said no way you will have to find some one else and thanked them for the call.....about 15 minutes later i get a cll directly from a title co to do the same closing at the same time in the same town..........at a fee of $225.........closing completed successfuly..............

You were very lucky, either not many notaries in your area or everyone else was busy. I had 3 different SS call me tonight with the same closing, I guess my local lowball notary must of been busy tonight, because I know someone by me does take the low fee signings.

I don't understand this logic
If I'm going to give anybody a break on my fees for "one time only" it's going to be for a loyal company who has already proven they're willling to give me a lot of business. It's not going to be for some complete stranger company who may never call me again.
If a company isn't willing to pay my fees the first time they call me, why would I want to give them a break? So I can argue with them over fees every time they call me in the future? No thanks.

Re: I don't understand this logic
this was a co i had done closings for be-for.....they are a ss but a good one......i would normaly close for them any time but in this instance the distance, and timing were factors...i was willing to help them if i could hopefully get more of their business in this area....
