No one told me....
That turning 36 would make me feel this way today. I feel weird today, not sure if I am still young or if I have crossed the line. Well, guess there's nothing I can do about it, I might as well enjoy the day. I know these guys are up to something, everyone is whispering.

First, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I loved my 30's! They were some of the best years ever! 40's ain't too bad either. 36 is not old! You are in your prime still! To me, "old" is 70+ so I figure I still have about 27 years of being "not old yet". A lot of it has to do with your attitude too, you really are only as old as you feel, I don't feel much different at 43 than I did at 33, other than maybe a little wiser than I was then. Enjoy your day!

Okay Loretta now I feel old. 36? I wish. I'm 43 and feel 90 today. Since I'm feeling so old you can take the day off of feeling old. Beverly

That is so weird. The only birthday I ever felt strange about was when I turned 26. There was something about being in my late 20's that I found really depressing, and I didn't expect it to hit me that way at all. Turning 30 was a breeze, and when I turned 36 I didn't get the same feeling thankfully.

Happy Birthday Loretta, Hope you have a good one. I was more depressed when I reached 40, then when I reached 50. I have come to the conclusion your age is what you make of it, you are as young as you feel, or as old as you feel.

Re: No one told me....Happy BD Loretta - Live Large!
Loretta - age is only a number!
I did not like 20 because I felt it signified that I needed to "grow-up." I did not like 25 because it sounded like a real grown up and I so enjoyed being silly. None other has given me a bit of trouble. The older I am, the smarter I am about life in general.
The older I get, the less I worry about my humor and silliness...just keep the bills paid, the dogs fed and be responsible in between the silliness and it's okay.
Like my youngest step-son said when he was around 16 and he saw an attractive older woman (one of my friends) "Mama, age is ONLY a number...fine is fine." Smart kid. I remind him of this as his waist size increases at the ripe old age of 25 and he feels "old."
Age truly is only a number.

I was relieved about turning 40. Not sure why. I didn't feel "Old". I did when I was 45 because I thought I was 46 for the whole year. Then my daughter did the math on my birthday and lo and behold I was 46 again! Haven't felt old since! I turn 54 (I think) in 8 days.

Re: Trust me Loretta you are indeed still so very young....
Enjoy your 30's, and gently move into your 40's with great comfort within yourself, it does feel a little unusual to hit 50, mainly because you never thought you'd get there......and then every year after 50 is ok too, it's just one of those things we have no control over so you may as well accept it and move on....

I am shocked, really. You don't look more than late 30's. I can only hope and pray I'll be that lucky.

Re: No one told me....My birthday surprise....
2 tickets to see Ron White on the 5th row. Wow!! I had a great time and comic relief like you would not believe.
Thank you all for your birthday wishes. It has been a rough couple of weeks; 18 year old trying to live here AND thinks he can do whatever he wants, 15 and 10 year old girls that I hope do not act like their brother when they get his age and closings GALORE!!! I am grateful for that and for my husband of 17 years that I could not imagine spending one day without.
Thanks for a great night, Dave.
