Background checks
I work for NREIS (in PA) as a Settlement Agent, and want to be added to the notary list. They are refusing to accept the background check from NotaryRotary and say they will only take NNA.
What do you guys think? Are you getting a similar response from other companies?
I told them they are limiting competition, and even PAN (PA Association of Notaries is onboard with Harry, so I do not understand).
Thanks for the input.

IMHO - if it were me, I'd have to move on. I will not give another cent to an organization that's not working in the best interests of our profession. I'm currently in process with my "NPBC" via the National Verification Registry (i.e. NR), which I've purchased MORE as a show of support (i.e. putting my money where my mouth is) for the provided OPTION than for any other reason. I haven't had a client ask for a BGC in almost 2 years - and the only one that ever DID, performed the service themselves.
I do have to think that the more NSA's there are that utilize the much-fought-for option, the better the publicity. The better this particular check becomes known (by USE) - the better the odds of its acceptance having some exponential growth.

My plan is to renew my Premier Membership, order the background check and be certified through Signing Registry. I am waiting to hear how I can arrange it that way.
I hear my company plans to only hire from NNA's www.signingagent.com database. They say they will accept a private BGC with them if I want to pay for that, but their internal check will not help me with anyone else. I am continuing to fight for the NPBC to be accepted here at my title company. If they will do it for me, they will open the door to others, and allow free market competition.
