Blame the notary

After completing a non-eventfull signing, I received a call from TC. "Lender said the check was not in the package." Huh? What check? Nothing in my instructions (or on the HUD) about picking up $$ from borrower. TC agrees to pay me for a second trip.

I call the Bo's to schedule a time to pick up the check. "Huh? What check?" They didn't know anything about it either. They will call lender. I inform TC of conversation and await further instructions.

TC just called and according to the lender "The borrowers gave the notary a check (at the time of the signing) and she forgot to take it". What???? Someone's evidently trying to cover their a$$. TC is still going to pay me for the second trip, and I will complete this assignment, I just had to vent. Grrrrrr....

The Notary did it, in the library, with a sharp pen!

Don't you love the games people play. Very frustrating . You'd think they could come up with a better lie though, since the bo's had already told you that they didn't know about it!
