Buyer Beware! Toner Cartridge purchase
I recently bought a toner cartridge to be prepared for EOM. When it came time to use it, actually the day I bought it, I discovered when I opened the box that it had already been opened before. The cartridge had been used and refilled. I called Staples right away and told them of the problem, especially since I had no idea how much toner was in it. Sent Hubby up to the store straight away (he was on an errand, and I was in the middle of a print job) and they gave him a new cartridge w/o the one I had bought, with the promise I would show up the next day with the old one. Kudos to Staples from me. When I looked at the box closer I could see that it had been opened and resealed, but it was very hard to see the original tape over the new tape. The nerve of some people. So make sure your cartridge comes in an unopened box! I am almost tempted to check the cartridge before I leave the store. Happy EOM!

Good to know, I am buying all my toner on line now so I won't have that problem. Good for Staples for handling the problem so well.

At my daytime job, we had a similar problem with a refurbished one from Office Depot. The green roller had a circular cut on it, and kept putting a big dot on the printed page every two inches, or so. Not sure if it had been used before like the one mentioned above, or if it was just something that happened when they 'refurbished' it. Either way, they exchanged for me, no questions asked.
