Confused printer
I have a Brother dual tray printer and have been increasingly running into the problem that the documents are scanned as a size a little over what my printer recognizes. A letter size will be scanned as 11.03 X 8.5, for example. Well my printer doesn't recognize this and simply stops until I hit the "GO" button, at which time it selects a legal page as this is larger than letter. I hate standing over the printer pushing the "GO" button as it hits these over sized letter pages. Under size is o.k., for example if the document is 8.5 X 10.98 it selects letter. So, is there a way to set it so it selects letter if the document is say, under 11.50 X 8.50? Thus avoiding having to stand over the printer as most over sizes are very, very small, less than .25". Thanks all.

Perhaps the problem is with scanner settings. When I scan docs, I often have to adjust the size before I accept the scan. I use HP digital image monitor program/utility.

Yes, definitely scanned in with the incorrect size but I'm left on my end to deal with it. Just wondering if I can adjust the parameters on my end for letter size to faciliate uninterrupted printing.

I think that will depend upon your scanner software. Unfortunately, I have not broken the code on this one and will be very interested in hearing the answer.

Cara, this is not my scanner...
It is the loan docs that are scanned and sent to me to print. An increasing number of packages are coming to me with the page size a little larger than letter, 8.5 X 11, and it confuses my printer.

Re: Larry, do you have the paper scaling option
to "shrink to printable area"?
