Late docs and borrowers with plans!

Grrrr - I have 3 closings scheduled today with enough time in between for all. Of course docs for the first one were not ready yesterday or early this morning, so rescheduled the first closing to do after the second. Docs for the second arrived but were huge (over 180 pages!). Docs for the third arrived late and are printing s l o w l y.
Called borrower for first, and they're fine with a delay in arrival. Called borrower for second, and she's irate - she's got plans to drive to another state and wants to leave now, she's irate, wants me to call the first borrowers and arrange to do her first so she can leave for her trip.
I can't believe her trip is so much more important to her than getting docs signed for her loan (which is a 1st and 2nd and will take time to sign the packages). Her priorities are definitely messed up. Sigh

It's money in your pocket if you can juggle this act. Otherwise, just let the hiring company know and let them deal with it.

I have this problem all the time. I can't believe so many others here who say they close 8-10 loans per day. I have trouble with 2 or 3!

I call a guy who has a 2pm closing because docs are running late and I tell him I will be there at 215pm or so. But he says he has to be at work at 3pm. Why would he even set it up for 2pm when he knows he has to go to work within the hour.

Call the next one because their docs are late too, and they can't do it later because they're going out to dinner with friends right after the closing. Again why would they schedule this just before going out, not knowing how long this will take.

Last one I call and they want me to come later because they have a PTA meeting and they won't get home until 630pm. I get there at 630pm and they say they have to hurry because the insurance agent is coming at 7pm. How the heck am I supposed to cram this in by then?

I find that every single borrower is surprised about the size of the package, no matter how small, and thus they are surprised this is going to take 30-60 minutes. They think they are going to sign one piece of paper and then I'm going to hand them a check for $15,000!

Had a signing scheduled earlier this week for 5:30PM about 15 minutes away, but the docs were late. Finally got the docs at 6PM and was just about ready to go, but the BO called the scheduler to see if I could come at 10:30PM instead - seems this was her bingo night.

To his credit, the scheduler said he wouldn't expect me to go out that late and we rescheduled for later in the week. Docs had to be redone with the new date, but I'm getting a print fee for the first run...

Re: Bingo

I also had a borrower who could not sign at a reasonable time because of her idiotic Bingo. We also had to sign at 10:30 at night. Her husband also had to wait, and then they had their adult daughter come out to double check all the docs. So they both had to wait until Mom was done with Bingo. And then the daughter aksed me how she could be a notary too.
