MoMo?

I tried a search and only got the most recent 200 posts, can't get any further back than that. So please forgive me if this has been asked already.

What does the term "MoMo" mean? I see it often, and have an idea, but I don't want to think it's one thing and have it really be another.

Thanks!!!!!!!

Barbara

Yes, it means what you think it does. It's an evolved language called NotRotese and you will learn to speak it sorta the same way you learned your own language... Just hang around here a while. New words get invented all the time. You may even invent a good one. MoMo's been around for about a year or so. Smile

Francisco, a very nice eating establishment.

Re: Have you ever seen a MoMo...in a MuuMuu...(Ross Bagdasarian)

I shudder thinking about the mental picture THAT brought up.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't know if it was an acronym or just a term.

This board is wonderful ... and I agree wholeheartedly, the orange search button can work miracles. And the one message that keeps being referenced as a source of great information ... anyone reading this who hasn't checked it out should do so immediately.

Have a GREAT day everyone!

Re: MoMo? It's MY word and I made it up along with JackBag

You can use it in place of words like A$$hole, Jerkoff, idiot and the likes. Use your imagination...I did.

I love people who people who make up their own words, to me it is a sign of a higher level of evolution, I've always liked the term ferdunster!

You Made Both of Those Words Up?

If that's a true statement then how do you suppose the slang definitions for both of them are found on a web site called Urban Dictionary?

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=MOMO++(ALSO+MO-MO)
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=jackbag

Just curious about your "imagination".

Dennis, don't be a momo or a jackbag....

Urban dictionary is an open-submission dictionary. Anyone can submit. Anyone can define.
So, did Becca make those words up? Well, she does have quite a fan base in our little notary/internet world. My guess is yep... she did.... and someone submitted it on her behalf.

It's One Thing...

...for Becca to use those words, quite another for you to describe a fellow poster on the board in this manner. As far as someone submitting it for her, note one of the definition entries is dated 03/27/2003. The point being neither of these two words is original from Becca's fertile mind. If her ego is such she craves credit for creating them, she can have it as far as I'm concerned.

Lighten up, Dennis...

sheesh. Are we not too busy at EOM to worry about such insignifcant things? As for your implication that Becca is egomaniacal, I can assure you that while a colourful personality, she is without a doubt one of the most humble and decent people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and working with. And, yes... I have met her in person, therefore feel qualified to judge her character.

My Ego?

I think we all know who has the broad-ass ego around here.

Here's a new word for you, Dennis...Scathead.

I believe scathead describes people such as you. You figure it out and please, do let us know if it pops up in the urban dictionary since you seem to have all the time in the world to research such things.

MoMo - JackBag – ScatHead

Becca's word. She made it up.

I think of it as meaning "a double Moron."

Re: MoMo? lol...

yes and she uses it frequently. Bren, I use to post on a stock board forum where there were some real rocket scientists! A few of us adopted the 'wrong' spellings of some of the posters and still use them today....That's where the 'aluminum foil cap' and decoder ring came from, along with 'geezx' and 'morans'....ahhh memories of laughing myself to tears. I really liked the Joanie and Chachi converations too.
We would tease ourselves silly while dumping tons of $$$...well, some of us made some too Wink
but I'll never forget those days, that's when I met my crazy buck-eye.
