NJ notary question. Thank you!
Good Morning all! It's a good day for me! I spent almost $150.00 getting my notary commission UPS next day to me, since the State misplace my 1st! Anyway, my question is, on my stamp, My commission expires 4/16/2007 can I strike it, initial it and write the new commission expiration date in? Is this acceptable until I get my new stamp? Thanks, NJ!

Good morning Linda,
I think it would be easier to just write out "My commission exp. 4/16/2011" (or whatever the actual exp date is) unless NJ doesn't allow for anything but the use of a stamp.

One company likes it the way I described. I have always used my stamp with my embosser. I also called county and she said she sees that alot and it is acceptable, just checking on other options.

You're never wrong to check with and follow the advice from the county. Glad you got your answer

New Jersey does not require the use of a stamp or embosser. All that is needed to perform a notarization are:
xxxxSignature of Notaryxxxxx Jane A. Doe State of New Jersey Notary Public My Commission expires 4-13-2007
This can be typed, handwritten, whatever as long as it is legible.

Thanks JB! NJ isn't very clear on many of the laws, or really don't have a specific, huh. I do know that using what I do is fine. Most companies like it that way.
