New Signing Agent in Jacksonville, Fl

Hi - I am a new signing agent and took training through NNA. I am looking for seasoned signing agents to share their expertise. Right now I am trying to figure out the best way to get jobs and market. Part of the reason I became an agent is because I have been originating and processing mortgages for a while now.

Eager to learn from anyone willing to share info.

I would suggest beginning at the 1st notary rotary msg and work your way to the last, tons of good information. Also read msg 33325. Use the orange search button and search for "marketing", "newbie", "getting started" etc. Also be aware that the word "NNA" around here is like a dirty word. Not too many have anything good to say about the NNA which is also known here as XYZ. Do a site search for "nna" if you are curious why.
It's good that you already have a mortgage background. But you are coming in at a bad time, plus Fla is already saturated with NNA NSA's so you have a lot of competition. Sign up with at least 300 signing services, know your state's notary law backwards and frontwards, and sideways! That's about the best answer I can give you.

Make sure you know Florida notary laws inside and out, and do not rely on the NNA for info on Florida notary laws. Join the ASN (American Society of Notaries) - a far better organization and more familiar with Florida notary laws - they are headquartered in Tallahassee not California like the NNA.
Make sure are familiar with ALL 9 elements that MUST be on a Florida notary certificate! If you haven't done so download a copy of the Governor's manual for notaries. If you e-mail me I will be happy to forward it to you. (my contact info is in my profile)

I live within 5 miles of Jacksonville, FL and there are 418 Certified Notary Signing Agents with 20 miles and 720 within 50 miles of my zip code. The NNA is cranking out CNSA's by the hundreds. I hope this is not your fulltime work as you will not be able to making a living. Lately my work has involved cleaning up new notary errors. I have other work that I do, so this is not my full time income. I have seen this coming for sometime.
