No Pay from Priority Notary Signings
Just say NO to Priority Notary Signings Initially received a call from Eric - sounded really nice and sincere - agreed to conduct signing. Completed the signing on March 3rd at around 10pm. No faxbacks, however, last minute signing a lot of handholding. To date, no payment received - Called Eric on April 3rd - he claimed he had sent check. I waited until Sat - no check in mail. Called Eric again on Monday 4/16/07 ---said he realized that he had not mailed a check to me. Said he would mail right away - still, no check to date - again - just say no to this company.

Hi Cynthia; I'm sorry you having problems with collecting for your services from this company. I really have no solution and the problem seems to be getting worse from recent spate of threads where non-payment is the central theme. There appears to be a common point in many of the threads and that is based on your comment that "Eric-sounded really nice and sincere" how about slick and slimy . Actually that appears to be a common item and I really don't understand why someone would make a business decision based on a disembodied voice on the phone. I am sure that the same people who claim that the scheduler sounded nice, or was "easy to work with" or any of the other descriptive terms used would not make a business decision on a purchase based on a nice and sincere voice on the phone.
I suggest that you set some hard and fast criteria on the information you need to make the decision to work for someone and if you don't get that information, you don't work for them. I am sure that you do this in every other aspect of your financial decision-making (at least I hope you do). I realize that it is tantalizing to have someone request your services for a fee but if that fee never materializes all that is left is the pain and frustration of knowing you've been had.
When I get a call I always answer pleasantly and politely (yeah, even me when it come to making a buck) and find out what the assignment is, what it entails (faxbacks, single, double, split whatever) who the company is, where they are located, the location and time, date of the assignment and that I need a confirmation before I can fully commit to the assignment. I know that sometimes it is uncomfortable to get all the info but my PDA has a recording feature and I repeat the information while my PDA is recording it "just to get it right" If I have not worked for the company before I immediately check it out and if I don't want the job I refuse it as soon as the confirmation comes in: its just fair to them (even if they are SOX to let them hang, although in a perfect world that would be the proper solution) I Have not had a collection problem in tow years. I may occasionally get a slow pay situation but I've never had it go beyond 45 days. I hope that this might help assuage your pain a little bit so that the next time a nice looking young man with polite manners and a smooth voice approaches you selling grave sites you can make a good evaluation as to whether he is truly sincere.

Thanks for the feedback Charles - I did hit the search button on this website in fact - there were 0 replies in regards to this company - thought I'd take a chance - I'll think longer and harder the next time out.

Tell you what, Cynthia
I've been in this business for several years now.
It's getting to be that if some SS I haven't heard of wants me to go 100 miles one way in two hours..the answer is NO..unless they up-front me the payment somehow.
90% of 'em won't do that..so problem solved..for me.
I'll give them a chance on local stuff. And if they establish a payment and trust record with me FIRST, THEN, I'll do the 100 mile signing for them.
But for me to take a call from Frank at "Slow-to-pay Document Signing" and go 100 miles one way on his sayso that he'll pay me full fee (sign or no sign) and promptly (not over 30 days)..I DON'T THINK SO.
Been there, done that, been burned.

They owe me from a signing on 1/26/07. Called today and got voicemail that did not reflect any names. Just "leave a message". I have their address as Lake Balbo, Ca.
