run spybot with the latest upgrades... and if that does not work go to symmantec and dl the virus fix you need... I had some serious viruses and spybot removed them all 100%

Thanks. But, I did the Symantec it gave me an error I can not remove it. I did spybot and it said it destroyed them but now everything is running slower than ever and my mouse moves by itself across the screen alone(Maybe it is a ghost). My computer has all necessary protection but I guess it wasnt enough. I had a siging last night and it took forever to print out docs computer locked up a couple of times. I just wanna cry now.. Anything else I can try.

Re: Bootable cds
Phill, you either have a CD that came with your system or you have a CD with XP only on it. Either of them should be bootable.

Phill...consider this

I had a computer that was really working poorly. I read about Live One Care on this site, tried it for the free period and found it to improve my overall computer health. It's an antivirus as well. I purchase it now. It's reasonable.

Brenda, do you use Live One in addition to
a firewall and anti-virus or in the place of those?

Viruses now a day are smart. As soon as it gets into your system it will disguise and clone good registry file(s) where your regular av won't detect. Unless you know exactly what's in your system (task manage/process) to locate the virus program, it would be best to re-format/install. Microsoft.com/download do have boot disk for download.
