Re-fi phone calls
As of yesterday morning, I have received over 40 phone calls on my cell & on my home phone from lo's wanting me to re-fi. After about the 5th one, I questioned the lo. Seems someone went to several websites over the week end and signed me up!! No... it wasn't me. I've yet to get to the bottom of this. Anybody else had this happen? And no.. I am not interested in re-fi'ing.

I think someone just applied for mortgage loan with your SS and now the 3(transunion,equifax and experian) have sold your file to the rest of the mortgage industry and thats why you are getting all these calls. JMHO.

I have received several emails from LO's and I respond back I would like to do their closings for them in the local area.
That seems to stop further emails individually, and markets myself to someone new. you never know....

The nerve, they think they can text you....never mind they didn't have accurate info. Susan I'm coming to OR in Oct. very short trip, I know where Lincoln City is, stayed at the beach last summer in Newport. How about a cupa java?

Ooooh - yahoo! Some of the BEST here! Looking forward to
your visit, albeit a short one. You like seafood? Yummmy stuff here, on the Beautiful Oregon Coast. (Imagine that)
I've told Cingular that they are taking off those unsolicited texts - I could disable the text msg function, but they won't adjust the bill...may do it anyway. Grrr.
I keep telling the phone solicitors that they wasted their money on the list I'm on - Dad refi'd sister's house over 2 years ago...and since I made the initial inquiries, I'm the one that got 'sold.'
Cheers! Susie

I swear it makes me wonder if there are a few SSs selling
NSA information as leads to mortgage companies.
Andy - whaddya think, fellow conspiracy theorist?

No doubt, Brenda
Imagine all the w9 submitted with SS# instead of an EIN.

Yes Brenda you read my mind. I also got a text message about refinancing and my name is not even on this house.

You can add cell phone #s to Do Not Call Registry.
Per Snopes: Yes, you can add your cell phone number to the Do Not Call Registry
In any case, the Federal Trade Commission does allow cell phone users to add their numbers to the National Do Not Call Registry — the same one already in force for landlines — either via the Web or by calling 1-888-382-1222.

Re: You can add cell phone #s to Do Not Call Registry.
I have done this and it still happens. I ask them for the name of the company they are calling for and then I ask them for their phone number. They will usually tell me the name of the company but won't give me a phone number. I then tell them, thank you, now with this information I can report the abuse to the FCC. they hang up.

Do Not Call doesn't work for companies you have a business
relationship with. Meaning that if you have a mortgage, they and all their subsidiaries can call you, including insurance, credit cards, financial products, etc. That's the loophole.
