Top Notch Signing Services
I finally got paid by Top Notch Signing Services out of West Palm Beach FL. It took 94 days, 5 phone calls and 2 collection letters to get my check. I called the title company and talked to a lady there who was going to follow up. I wrote a second collection letter to Top Notch and let them know I was starting to call their clients.
One thing I've learned is to be sure to save names and phone numbers of people at the lender and title company so that if the signing service fails to pay, I have someone to call to put pressure on the company.
I'm sure the last thing Top Notch wanted was for the lender and title company to know about their treatment of the signing agents who do such good work on their behalf.
I do not recommend Top Notch and I will never work for them again. What really ticks me off is that for all the calls I made and the letters I send, NO ONE ever bothered to respond to me. Top Notch should be renamed Bottom Rung.

Julie,
Thanks for the update. I am still trying to iget EXCEL SIGNING SERVICES, LLC in Costa Mesa, CA to pay me for a signing in November of 2006. So far no luck. Mr. Vahey does not answer his phone or reply to voice mail messages. Not giving up yet. The problem is I am in FL and He is in CA.

I just emailed them today inquiring about my payment for 3/21. Looks like expecting them to honor their "payment 30 days after signing" policy may be disappointing. It would be a bad move for them to be a no-pay / slow-paycompany in my neck of the woods, since it's very rural and there are not many siging agents around here (2 others besides me in a 50 mile radius). Keeping my fingers crossed.

They seem to like to use the line "we mailed your check" but they mail it to the wrong address. I was told my check was mailed back in February and returned to them as undeliverable. At that point, I'd think, if they are an ethical company, they would call me on the phone and ask for my address. I had faxed them a W-9 the same evening of the signing, so the fact that they used my old address is clearly their fault. As signing agents, we are supposed to pay meticulous attention to detail but the signing services can't even read a W-9? When I got a check from them yesterday, it wasn't a check that was written back in February; it was written last week. I don't think they sent me a check in February at all. I think they were just blowing smoke. I am relentless in pursuing the money I've earned and I take it personally when these companies try to stiff me. I think they expect us to just go away and quit trying and they just try to wait us out. Look how much money it will save them if they only have to pay for a fraction of their notaries? Julie

Re: Top Notch Signing Services..Got paid!
I received my check today, 40 days after signing so they are still OK for work from me. I hope they pay the rest of you that have been waiting!
