United Notaries
I rec'd a call from this company on Thursday while driving - they asked if I'd do a signing at 8pm 1st & 2nd, close to home.....met my fees, etc. After searching this site, I called, emailed and faxed my refusal to do signing and told Naomi exactly why I was refusing. She called me Friday morning to "thank me" for my messages and to tell me that the T/C cancelled the loan because "they will only use a notary with $500K E&O" ????? I said good luck.
2 hours later I get a call from another SS - can I do a signing at 8:00pm....same borrowers. Evidently United turned the assignment back over when they could not find someone. I accepted this signing and later had an opportunity to speak to the T/C re a phone number. I told her that I had refused this same signing from United Notaries because of the information I read on their payment issues. She was very surprised.....I told her she might think about checking out some of the signing services by coming to a site like NotRot, put the name of the SS in the search button and make a determination based on the info they find as to whether or not to continue with that company. She said she would pass that info on to others in her office.
While I was fortunate enough to refuse to do the signing for United Notaries I do have an idea for those of you who are owed. I have a good friend who lives in Evergreen, CO. He graduated with a law degree but does not practice law....his wife is an attorney for the SEC out of Denver. I am going to write him and find out if he would be interested in trying to get collections from this company. I will post back and let those of you who are owed what he has to say.
