Unsigned name affidavit...
Client says I didn't sign or complete a name affidavit for a customer from the 30th, which is supposed to fund today. So he faxes over a copy with the customers signature on it already. I could have sworn I completed this form. I usually check so many times it's right, till my wife says I'm going to drive myself crazy, lol. I usually keep a signed copy of the HUD so the signatures match. Should I ask for a blank copy of Signature Affidavit?

I'm not sure of your question? A name affidavit unsigned by whom? The borrower? If so where did title get one to fax to you? Or did the borrower sign the affidavit, and you simply forgot to notarize? If it were me (and my mistake) I would go ASAP and get another name affidavit signed. Fax it to title, and send them the original overnight.

I agree with Les, not sure of your question. First you said the document was unsigned, but then you said they faxed over a signed one.
Lately I've seen so many of those Signature Affidavits that don't even need notarizing.

"I usually keep a signed copy of the HUD"??????
I can't imagine keeping a hard copy of anyone's docs. I only hold the package until payment is made and then I instantly delete it. But a hard copy? I would think you're asking for trouble with that practice.

Re: "I usually keep a signed-Do you keep a journal?
Then you wouldnt need to keep signed copies of Hud. I see why you do it, but I have to agree with Sue on this one. If you are listed on the HUD that might be a different story, but not a signed one. And that would only be for purposes for payment and then shred it.
