What accounting software do you use?
Do you like it? What are the pro's and con's? Does it work with tax software? Do you have to pay a service for self employment rate tables? How do you pay your SE taxes?
Lots of questions.

We used Quickbooks Pro 2005...as far as the tax side of it...we just run off an accountant's copy, give it to our CPA (who also uses Quickbook Pro along with others)...and she takes care of it. (We are incorporated so all my signings go through the corporation...."I" have earned NO income this year...but my corporation....wellllll.....NOYB!)

I use Quickbooks 2006 Premier for myself and book keeping clients. It works quite well for me. All you need is plain vanilla Quickbooks. As for SE taxes, as long as you are making your estimated taxes then you don't need to worry about it until the end of the year at tax time.

I use the three clipboard method. One for confirmations, one for finished jobs, one for companies that haven't paid in over 45 days. As far has SE taxes, my husband is a CPA Seriously though, good question, I've got msn money installed and will probably start using it.

I use Quicken Home & Business. I can invoice accounts from Quicken and it has a mileage tracker.
I like this system; but there isn't anything a person can't do with a pen or pencil and accomplish the same thing.
You can only do what you can afford!
