does anyone get signings everyday

Does anyone get signings everyday? I feel like I may be under charging. I noticed on a signing today that on the good faith estimate they were quoted $150.00 over my price. If I increase my fee will I lose business.

Would you please link your profile, Andre...

it would be of benefit to you if others could see what you have to offer.
What's more, if someone wanted to send you a private message, or email, how would
one know how to reach you?

Andre, when you create a message or add to an existing thread, you can check the "Add link to my profile" box to the right of the author. When you do this, an orange link to your profile appears in the thread.

Now that you've linked your profile...

you might consider adding a little more information to the profile. I know from your profile that you do mobile signings, but that's it! Brag a little about yourself, maybe list your experience. I realize you're not in a really saturated area, but most companies pick the person who looks most like they have experience, in my experience.

For some examples of great notary profiles, check out Brenda/Tx, Mistarella/FL, and Lisa Prestergard. There are tons of others who have excellent profiles, but theirs stand out to me. Also, make sure you update your profile monthly, which I need to do today. If the "last updated" shows a 2006 date, then many companies will pass you by because they assume you are not doing signings any longer.

Good luck. As others have said, make sure you are charging a fair fee, both for yourself and your area, and you should do well.

If you think you may be undercharging.....

chances are good that you are. There are few notaries in your area so you should be able to get your fee most often. Set your fees based on your expenses and a reasonable profit. I wouldn't think you would lose business if you charge what clients reasonably expect to pay in a market like yours. Take avantage of this and once you set what you think is a fair fee, hang tight and you will feel good with being well compensated for your services and will win out in the long term.

This is how I see the work load go busy and slow.

I get signings every day, but I have been a notry for 7 years. When I first started, everyone told me, "I already have a notary in your area". I begged them to put my name in their data base. I was grateful for one a week. Slowly, I got up to one a day. It was nothing I could make happen, just take every job that came my way and to my best. This is a hard, stressful job, and there is turnover, so little by little, I got more work. Now I average 4 or 5 a day. People think that if they become a notary today, they will have jobs lined up for them like that too, but that's just not what I see.

But I also see this: Slower between Halloween and tax time because everyone is spending too much money on holidays and taxes to refinance). Very busy during summer. First 1/3 of work in the first 1/2 of the month, 2/3 of work in the second half. So if you do one a day before the 15th, you should do 2 a day after the 15th. I always find the "last day" of the month on my RTC calender and circle it, so I know which days will be the most hectic, and I can metally be ready for them. Then of course, it drops off to nothing. (Time to clean the house and do the accounting before it starts up again.)

I don't want to take vacations in summer because it's busy, and I don't want to take vacations in winter because it is slow.
