You need to do your due diligence and find out what it will take YOU to make a profit.
Good luck

Ever wonder why newbies take those $40-$50 closings and and create such a furor by others here? Answer: Replies like this.

I would say never sell yourself short. Never give away your services. Never put money in someone elses pocket that belongs in yours. Do some research, look at what others in your area might be charging by using Google. You'll be suprised.

Perhaps "newbies" feel that by charging a lower fee, they will get that "first" signing and build rapport with companies to have more signings - not thinking that once they start with lower fees, it may be difficult to raise fees.
Just a thought.

I totally disagree. If the newbie does their due diligence, they will KNOW that they can not make a profit on $40 - $50 closings, but will actually be losing $$$.

Coming here to ask what fee should be charged is NOT

doing their due diligence. "replies like this" aren't why newbies take $40-50 signings, it because they don't do their homework.

Re: Coming here to ask what fee should be charged is NOT

It IS exactly why they take those fees. All you have to do is read the many posts and they tell you exactly that. They haven't a clue and when a SS offers $40 they think that is great.

It is not until they do research and find a "hidden" fee in a post that they realize they may be undercharging; experience aside. If you want to stop or curtail lowballers, at least give them a minimum, no experience fee to start out at. $75 sounds good to me until level of experience dictates more.
