principal business tax code

Sorry if this has already been addressed, I did a search and found nothing! What is the principal business or professional activity code for a notary for 2007? Last year it was 541199 but this does code not exist this year. Thanks!

Correct code is 541199 ...

The number is 5 4 1 1 9 9 as shown in the NAICS Code listings.

I used TurboTax for my return - it pulled up 541100 - hope that's not an auditable offense..<G>

I'm not a tax professional, so what I'm about to say may be taken with a grain of sea salt. I don't think it will matter at all with the IRS. 541100 is the "Legal Services" code for all the sub-codes beneath it, including 541199. TT does not know the code for notary work, never has and probably never will. You can override what TT uses though. I think TT gets the code "list" from the Bureau of Labor (http://www.bls.gov/oes/current/naics4_541100.htm) which does not list 541199 as an "employee/employer" related code.
