ss says I MUST invoice his way

I accepted 2 orders in January from a ss. Faxed my invoices to the fax number listed on the confirmation. Here we are the end of April so I contacted the lawyer who owns the title company and asked if he could help me get my $$$. He told the ss to resolve this issue promptly as I told him I am filing a civil suit next week. Well amazingly the ss contacts me. Seems he wants me to fill out an on-line invoice as 'the staff' sometimes pick up faxes and they don't get to the right place. Well you know, if there's a problem, and I tell you I faxed the invoices 15 minutes ago, walk across the room, pick up the fax and put it on the 'to be paid pile' and then write the check. What a crock. This isn't an office w/staff - it's him and his wife. I imagine the judge will determine that receipt of an invoice is exactly that and payment is due, including the 18% interest and costs of suit, including my lawyer fees.

I've said repeatedly I dislike signing services and seldom work for them. My last 'problem' signing service kept up the same thing - broker & title told her to pay me right away and she kept it up - needed W-9 - no she didn't she had my EIN, will 'mail' the check - too late the suit was going to be filed before 'regular' mail had time to deliver, etc. When they create 'a problem' as to why we're not paid, I've found in the past that they will continue to make excuses.

I see people on these boards all the time asking what to do - file small claims - I have only had to do it or show the parties involved the actual completed complaint form a few times in the past and I have always won and been paid - including interest & costs. Services were performed properly, they received an invoice, pay up. No grey areas involved here. By the way, after I did these 2 orders I didn't accept any others although they continued to call regularly during the next month. Then, amazingly, the calls stopped - could it have possibly been that they realized I wasn't paid?

Try using paypal invoices.
That has worked for a few of us in similar circumstances.
