California Notaries: AB 886
I just read about this new law/bill being passed in California making it easier for lawmakers to crack down on "unethical and criminal notaries". Do any of you have an idea of what this really means? I'm not insinuating that any of you are unethical or criminal. I'm just wondering how lawmakers plan on enforcing this new legislation. Will there be more oversight or what?

OK, I need to stop speed reading....
...had I read just a little further my questions would've been answered:
1) The bill still needs to go before the Senate. 2) Extends statute of limitations from 1 to 4 years. 3) Peace officers can now seize evidence and investigate. 4) No more PO box as place of residence. and more.
CA Notaries...have you all been hearing about this all along or is this new information?

Thanks Christi!
Just rub salt into my wounds, okay? (smile) It's hot and humid here in Alabama.
