Cleaning Toner Cartridge

I believe its the transfer roller. It was working fine and now its leaving spots of light toner on the paper. I tried the printer cleaning from my printer quide and that didnt work.
Im not even sure if this is possible, but if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate them. Toner cartridges are really expensive in my little ol town so I order them. Im trying to keep from going to buy one locally.
I have a HP 2200.

Have you tried cleaning the roller inside the cartridge? If you take the cartridge out and flip it upside down, there should be a spring-loaded flap that exposes the roller. Wipe it with a tissue. You may have to separate the roller teeth (at one end or the other) to turn the roller, cleaning it entirely.

Thanx Todd, I actually did try that. I fear I will have to go get a cartridge locally here. Venting-we have one, yes one, office supply store here and they know they are the only one!! Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!

Try ebay. I have an HP 1320 and the cartridges sell for $140. I found a couple places on ebay that sell them for about $30. I then found toner replacement kits selling for about $12.

I actually just got this cartridge and probably will be sending it back. Its from Inkjetsuperstore. They do replace them if they dont work. I usually have pretty good performance from their cartridges.
