FedEx Account has been marked for Cash-only
Looks like Mxxxxxxn won't be receiving their pkg. by Monday. I received this error message when trying to create an airbill online.
>>>Error
Account has been marked for Cash-only. Please contact your local FedEx Customer Service representative (in U.S. and Canada, call 1-800-GO-FEDEX®).<<<
I wonder what would happen to a pkg. placed in a drop box with a hand written airbill? First, County Recorders are not accepting checks from certain lenders, now FedEx is not extending credit to certain lenders. What's next?

Fedex will almost certainly deliver the letter on a paper airbill, bill recipient. Yo want to be certain that your name and address are not on the sender portion. As you know, if they cannot collect from the recipient, they go after the sender. For what it's worth.

I'll give it a shot, but customer service said anything with that account number will not be shipped without payment up front.

So, drop it in a drop box, make sure the company is marked as sender and recipient and include their phone number

It happened to me last week, I thought it was my account because I haven't updated my fed ex account with them, but no it was the title account the problem, what I did, I just prepared a hand written airbill with their name on both places. I checked when the package was supposed to be delivered and it was delivered so, do it like that and it wont be a problem.

I didn't want to drive to the depot today. I have a pick up already scheduled and if they pick it up from my home, along with the other pkgs. they'll certainly know who to bill. I guess I'll just take a drive down there...or not. It's not my problem. I've emailed the LO and left a VM.

Becca, an ugly thought just popped into my mind. Do you think you'll get your fee from unmentioned company????

That thought crossed my mind too. I am on the HUD, sort of, it says Notary Fee: TBD. This is a CA TC so a final HUD is not drawn until funding.
I just got a call from my FedEx driver. They call on Saturdays to see if I can kick it up a notch and have my pkgs. ready sooner so they can go home early. I asked him what would happen with a handwritten airbill (sender & receiver the same) picked up at my home and in a drop box. He said they would not accept the pkg from me at my home unless I paid for it and if left in a drop box, the pkg would be held @ the depot and shipped after payment had been received.
I just feel better knowing the borrowers docs are here with me rather than sitting @ the fedex depot somewhere. I can't tell you how many times I've gone to the depot to pick up a pkg and the gals haven't been able to find it. A couple of weeks ago I waited 20 minutes while they located a held pkg...and these girls know me.

I frequently schedule pick-ups at my home, and use hand-written airbills. Never had a problem from FedEx or UPS. Hmmm. Wonder if they're checking payment issues at the distribution center before it ships??

When FedEx picks up, the driver scans immediately, and will tell you if there anything of concern. Once I was given wrong zip, driver tossed back to me, I remedied via MapQuest, and off he went. I asked what if I hadn't been here - his response was he would have left for me to do when I got back. They are getting stiffed also, so they don't waste time, energy etc to take, then store for info to reach them. Now drop boxes,...diff. animal.
