Increasing Assignments

Hi all...

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I can get assignments on regular basis? Also, if there are any companies you can refer.

Pour yourself a nice glass of Chardonnay or whatever else tickles your fancy, sit thee at thy computer and start reading all these posts. You'll learn a lot. Most of your questions will be answered

I was just going to say the same thing. This is not meant to be mean, but if you had just taken the time to read and read what's written here day after day after day, you'd find what you're looking for.

Read this entire page, and when you get to the bottom, hit the Prev key which will take you to the previous page. Just keep going until you just can't read anymore.

Also use the Orange Search button at the top of the posting page. There you can input any key words you want, like 'fees' or 'newbie'.

If you are inexperienced, you are going to have pay a fee to the signing companies to get experience. To get experience, Sign on the X might be the answer

"If you are inexperienced, you are going to have pay a fee to the signing companies to get experience"

There are plenty of companies out there to sign up with and NOT pay a fee - granted the calls will be slow coming in and the fee paid won't be top dollar but the experience will be there for the taking...without PAYING a fee or ACCEPTING $45-$50/signing....

And SOX is not the answer for anyone. JMHP

If JohnnyB responds to a post, you can be guaranteed a stupid answer and quite possibly a stupid question. Newbies beware, this dude is totally out of left field. If you've been reading this forum for the past month, you already know this.

Beware, this woman is a still a newbie. She hasn't done a lot of closings. She has a GED education, and lives in a trailer. On second thought, she lives out of her car with her mobile scanner.

Others by leaving

Maybe the room will soon be brightened with the departure of the source of all the inane comments.

There is no bait here. I am only responding to Beckies vicious and constant attacks.
Many people like my posts and they are telling me this with private messages.

Better than living under a rock like you. You are soooo pathetic, but thank you for proving me right, stupid is as stupid does.

You obviously don't know a thing about libel and malicious intent. Keep this kind of BS up and you just might get an education.

I am of the opinion, judging by your nonsensical posts, that a village in RI is missing an idiot.

Actually Johnny B - Becca is not a newbie, has probably done more closings that you ever will, and she does not live in a trailer! And her education was obviously a lot better than yours.
Too bad you still suffer from SRH

I'm beginning to believe that the JB in JohnnyB stands for JackBag.

No offense to our one and only, original JB a/k/a JerseyBoy. JerseyBoy is one righteous dude!

Re: Disagree Johnny B

Carme,
I think what my colleagues are trying to say here is that if you notice the posts as of late, the business has slowed way down for signing agents across the country. The mortgage industry is in trouble and major players are shutting down.Even the federal government is worried about the current conditions of the market. Experienced notaries who used to make a great living at being a signing agent, are looking into other lines of work to support themselves. There is not enough work to go around right now and everyone (including the title companies and lenders) are scrambling to stay afloat in this business. Indicators in the market are looking like things will be bad for several years to come and some are saying the market will never be what it once was.

With all that said, the signing services and title companies who do get what little work there is out there are using notaries who have the most experience and who have worked with them for years. The notaries receiving work now are notaries they know and trust. It is a very bad time to be just starting out. Not that it cant be done, just that it is going to be very tough to get in right now. Like everyone has said read, read, read. I would add to that sign up with as many companies as will take your information (some companies are not even taking info for new notaries as they have no work for them right now). If you truly want in you will have to be prepared to do a LOT of research, marketing, learning. It takes a lot of work and is not as simple as getting a stamp and going to work. Best of luck to you.
