Is TN a witness state?

I have a refi signing tonight, for a TN property, TN borrowers. The lender's closing instructions state to have witnesses sign "if indicated." There are two witness lines on the DOT. Barring information to the contrary, I guess I'll consider that "indicated."

I welcome comments from anyone more informed than me!

It's after-hours for them, or I'd call them.

TN is NOT a witness state and I know what you're talking about with the ever present blanks. I usually will sign as a witness (we're allowed here on the DOT) but it's not a must.

Thank you, thank you. That certainly simplifies things! Especially for out-of-towners.

there are usually wittness lines on dots and mortgages but..

wittnesses wre not reqd in wi so i never use them.....i notarize per wi stats and that under "uniform notarial laws" is acceptable in most if not all states.....if they need wittnesses then it is up to the lender or title to let the borrower know......not me.......
