Just received an e-mail from NotaryBids.com

Has anyone ever heard of them or signed up with them?

Why the fees? Seems funny to me.

Thanks

Just say NO. Don't know 'em, but from the name--you pay a fee to be in their database so that you can bid on jobs--lowest bidder 'wins'???? Nuts!

I emailed them

almost verbatim what Lee said. I did receive an email. They won't let you submit a bid lower than the NNA recommended fee and thought that was a good deal. I then informed then that those fees were too low to attract experienced, knowledgeable notaries and told them they needed to up their min. fees to at least $75 for O/N and $100 for e-docs which is still a bargin! (Actually it is still too cheap unless the signing is with a 10 min. drive.) MHO

Re: I emailed them

brought this up several months ago. Good for their biz, bad for ours. There's ALWAYS going to be someone taking the offers to keep busy. Trust in yourself, your work and guarantee that it will only take 1 time to get the job done right. I'm up against this competition that WILL go out for the $50 and $75 jobs. How do I know this?

1) Several companies stopped calling me and have told me why when I check in. 'Yes, you were great but times are a changing. There are notaries working for less.'
2) Some people are doing this part time or in 'retired' time and don't need to put a pork chop on the table for the young ins.
3) Some look at it as 'getting out of the house'.

In any case, always market.....
