Lenders Choice got me!!!

Had a call yesterday from Tiffany @ Lenders Choice asking if I can do a signing (refinance) at 7:30pm. I was heading to my 3rd signing at 4:30pm and figured why not do another today. I asked where and she asked me my fee. I told her $xxx.00. The docs of course were not ready until 7:38pm. I printed them, went to borrowers home to sign. There were 150 pages or more and 26 Notary Signatures!!!

When I returned to process the docs I noticed the fee was incorrect. She forgot the # in front $xx.00 I sent her an email and she states she misunderstood me because she would not have sent me the confirmation for that amount. She states it's an Attorney's Amount.

I asked her to pay me for the signatures which is 26 @ PA's $5.00 per signature, plus edocs. She said no way can she do that.

This is what I told her:

I spent 4 hours on this signing from start to finish and there are 26 Notary signatures on it and you want fax backs!! Total of 150 pages???

I will finish the Notary part (for the borrowers sake) and send the
docs back today. I will not do the back. I expect my check for $xx.00 by Monday.

If all your docs are 150 so pages with this many Notary signatures then I will
have to be taken off your call list. I can not afford to work 4 hours for $xx.00
or the $80.00 you say is the normal fee your company pays. I could have taken a
signing last night for $xxx.00 if I didn't already commit to you.

I know what you are all thinking and your right, I should have looked at the confirmation better before I started the print. I want to kick my self in the butt for that too!!

What do these people think we are???? A cleaning lady and a McDonalds counter person gets paid better then what they offer!!

You had a verbal agreement with Tiffany and she should honor it. I would go up the chain of command and talk to her supervisor to get the agreed upon fee.

Sometimes it is hard in the flurry of eom activity to look carefully at every detail, so don't fault yourself.

As long as these companies can find people to do signings for such a low price it will be a continued practice. Maybe we should organize and have a uniform pricing schedule . Only then can we stand strong for our much deserved compensation..... Any suggestions?
